AC died first night but was repaired
Pool closes at 7pm no exceptions..must leave pool area

I could over look the dated rooms with carpet and overpowering freshner in the room but the fact that I was denied access to the area that had live music because it was for dining guests, was an insult. I have been here for three nights and when I returned from dinner I was told I wasn’t allowed. The first night here I wanted a cocktail but the bar didn’t open till 7:00 which is ridiculous so I went up the street and found Casa Velha which had exquisite food so ate there for my three nights. The management at Quinta de Penha needs major overhaul. I will never recommend this place

Full marks all round
Great all round - we booked late so could only get attic room - bit small but great value hotel in great location - read a complaint about divers using the pool - there are 2 pools, divers only use one and that pool is so big it’s not an issue. Will be back next year - a big thanks to guys at pool who kept moving sunshade to keep us covered :-))))
Short break
My husband and I stayed at the older part of the hotel - Quinta Penha De Franca. The hotel may be a little dated but we really liked it. The breakfast area overlooking the garden in the morning was lovely. Location was convenient and easy to use bolt and tour transfers. We liked the walk into funchal along the promenade. Our room was large. Housekeeping daily. We liked our balcony with a sea view. Thank you for a lovely short break.

Wonderful place to be
The location is very charming and is located near the beach. The superior rooms are big and very clean. I recommend the hotel !! Food is excellent!
