Excellent hotel
I have just returned from a weeks stay here . After reading reviews I emailed ahead to ask for a high floor for our sea view room . On arrival this was honoured and turns out the person who responded to my email checked us in. I have to say the check in process was the best I have ever experienced . He gave us a full explanation of the hotel and lay out and also a map . I can’t remember his name but we checked in around 13.30 on 13th September . He couldn’t have been more helpful . As our room wasn’t ready we left our bags and headed out to explore . The hotel phoned me to make me aware when our room was ready . We stayed in 718 and were very pleased and had a great view of the sea and the rock . The room was spotless and had some nice touches . The fridge contained water and 4 cans beer , coke and extra water all at no extra cost . For someone with a knee replacement having a high toilet was great . We spoke to the maids through out the week who are so polite and do a fantastic job . Each night our room bell rang and we were given a different gift , really nice touch and appreciated . The room has everything you need for a great stay . We were breakfast only but it had a good selection and yes some mornings there was a queue to get it but it’s a well oiled machine and you are not waiting long . Other nice touches are on each floor as you exit the lift you will find a water dispenser so you can fill up your drink bottles and don’t have to keep buying water . Quality toilet paper and tissues in your room we all know these count . The hotel is a few steps away from the beach 2 beds and a brolly €30 so pretty pricey but wasn’t an issue for us and I couldn’t sit in a chair all day. Some nice restaurants on the front and down the back streets are favourite was flame of Indian , try it you won’t be disappointed .If you want a fantastic hotel in a great location this is for you . It’s 30 minutes away from Benidorm on the tram so you can have a day in the madness which we love . All the staff in the hotel are great . Only had 1 bad encounter with a lady who works in the lobby bar . I tried to ask her a question re the roof top pool and her response was check your map ! She didn’t even listen to my question very rude . We will definitely return
Superb stay in Solymar gran hotel Calpe
Just home on friday from a fantastic holiday in Calpe, stopping in the Solymar gran hotel. One of my favourite hotels I've ever stopped in. We loved it from start to finish. Great experience and amazing views of the beach and Rock which I was fortunate to climb to the top of one day. Great views from the hotel and infinity pools. Calpe was a lovely place, especially the old town, with some really nice restaurants. All the staff were very friendly, including our cleaning ladies. We had great breakfast everyday, we stopped B&B as we like to go out for meals on the night. Few little extras in the room on our arrival, which was a classy touch. And the rooms were great, with very comfortable beds. We left at 6am on Friday morning, and were greeted by two lovely breakfasts in a box as it was too early for the restaurant. We would definitely love to stay here again. Well done and thanks for a superb holiday, Solymar gran hotel.

Really lovely stay
We have returned from a 6 night stay. The hotel is lovely and we have had a really lovely stay. The room with a seaview was great and breakfast was the best ever but if a bit late will have to queue. The old town is a short steep walk but worth it as is stunning. Restaurants are amazing. We thought we had a great experience but having read other reviews we realise that even though we went to reception the night before we left for an early morning flight we were not offered a breakfast box instead were told we would be able to buy coffee and croissants at the bar. These were not there. I do have to also agree with the comments on the constant music around the pool when the sound of the sea is just so beautiful. Also the cards on beds still say 20 minutes not 40 minutes. But despite this we will definitely return. We had a great time

a fabulous hotel , great location
what a fabulous hotel , great location . Just got back from a week. Booked a standard room, the room itself was great, spacious , the little extras were lovely, hat, beach bag, slippers and all the toiletries were a lovely touch, never been in a hotel giving you so much. Lovely reception ,staff were very pleasant and helpful a credit to you. View from room was on the street , but we thought maybe that way, but to be honest didn't bother us really . Breakfast was everything you could ask for and more amazing view whilst dining, again restaurant staff pleasent , a bit of a duck and dive as it's buffet style but that was okay and got used to it. Food was plenty full and delicious 😋 the floor 10 pool was small but with great views, there were beds up there but no umbrellas which was just too hot to use . The beach club was nice and modern but agree with other reviews the music was constant thud thud, we only got a bed there once and that was later on in the day beds left with towels on the usual case, went on the roof terrace with 3 pods which were nice but again not a lot of shade but we made our own and it was a lovely bit of time there. The beach club is just too small for the hotel size , so we ended up on the beach for a while most of the time . The lifts were very good but takes a bit to get used to , when going from floors to the beach tunnel that connected hotel to beach club as some went only to some floors. We had an early transfer to the airport and booked a picnic breakfast to take, omg amazing never had so much , fruit water, fruit juice coffee in a can , croissants, sandwich, donuts came I. a box with a good handle , 5 stars for that .

Lovely hotel spoilt by never ending loud music at the main pool
Beautifully placed hotel. Seaview rooms are large, comfortable with great Seaviews. The breakfasts are also excellent. We are still at this hotel with another week to go. However what the hotels website and Tui do not mention is the loud bumping house style music that is played all day long at the main pool followed by a DJ and even louder music at 17.30 ! We were certainly not expecting a younger age Ibiza vibe but that is what we have got unfortunately 😡 So many people we have chatted too agree that this is spoiling their holiday. Not the chilled out experience that we were hoping for.
