The Hotel was fantastic and also the food and staff The cleaning staff were fantastic our room was cleaned every day and beds made. The bar staff were fantastic and the catering staff were there always when you needed some thing. There is only two points i would like to rec recommend: Please change the pillows to normal then a sausage pillow and sort the WiFi out. The Entertainment staff were very good always jolly and made you welcome in the day and night entertainment. Jet2 have picked a fantastic Hotel.
It was okay but didn't found food to great but lovely rooms and comfortable beds bit upset as sun didn't get round pool to early afternoon sit situated lovely in between old town and the strip wouldn't go back
Lots to share , so I’ll start right now 😄some good and some bad.
Pool area unclean during day, life guard clearing cups but needs regular staff circling, not the life guard.
Around the pool area , no food is permitted, and boy does the lifeguard tell you, alongside coffee cups, and no ball games in the pool.
Be ready for a dash at 8.45am with the saddos who have to have a pool side lounger but then don’t turn up for hours, ( this needs to be addressed, hotel should remove towels after 2 hrs If no one turns up ) All rushing for poolside but the terrace area was better and spacious. It does make good viewing in a morning from your balcony watching people run.
Get use to pigeons. They love the pool area and found them aggressive 😂
Found a nail with red nail polish in between my bed sheets. Apart from this I can’t fault the maid, bed made every day and fresh towels. Safe is €3 a day, deposit for pool towels €10 which you get back upon return. Showers in the room weren’t great.
It’s adults only but you forget until you have the younger generation shouting and playing loud music in their rooms ( walls thin) In the evening the boys on the bar work hard but look like they enjoy their jobs which is nice to see and the manager gets stuck in which is also nice to see.
Food in the restaurant, Lots of variety but a lot of it over cooked ( like breakfast time and black pudding, I wouldn’t have been able to get my teeth through it) When we arrived we received a voucher to go to sister hotel for an Indian, Staff really nice but Indian lacked flavour. Snack bar is really good , chips / kebabs/ pizza & burgers.
Entertainment, They work very hard, some of the shows like singers over and over that can’t sing was a little repetitive.
All in all it’s a nice hotel, I wouldn’t return, I didn’t relax into adults only as I usually do, just for either being woken up early by girls shouting and singing , couples arguing , neither of which are the hotels fault but as I said , I didn’t relax and looked forward to my own bed at home.
We had a fantastic week at the Sandos Monaco. From check in to check out everything was excellent. Clean, comfy accommodation, friendly staff, lovely food and drinks, great daytime entertainment. Cold air con was welcome during the heatwave. We were there for the World Cup final which was an amazing experience.
Review based on an 8 night stay in July.
Room - we were on the 13th floor with a pool view. Our room was spacious with a huge bathroom, everything you would expect fridge, safe, toiletries etc. the view was amazing we could see the mountains and peacock island and everything in between, nice and quiet too. One problem with the bed was the reading light(see photo) it encroached over the bed so you had to be careful not to hit your head on it and it was far too bright so I couldn’t use it. A/C was more than adequate even on the lowest setting.
Staff - They couldn’t do enough for you, always working and happy. Felt a bit sorry for Narnia having to work 10 days straight with double shifts thrown in. Had an issue with our cleaner, before breakfast we dropped some coins on the floor in our room by mistake so thinking we would pick them up when we returned after breakfast the maid had been in and tidied up taking the coins with her, at other hotels when this had happened anything the maid found was put on the side table for us. Just keep valuables out of sight. Reception staff were always helpful . Entertainment was good day and night.
Food - Breakfast was horrible, either the food was undercooked or cremated. Cheap catering sausages, Spanish bacon was like glass and everything was dry and over cooked, I missed most mornings and waited till the kitchen was open by the pool, they had burgers, hotdogs, chips, fruit and kebabs all freshly made and delicious. Lunch was ok as was dinner but nothing special, one night I had duck and chips because there was nothing else I liked and I’m not a fussy eater but I didn’t fancy mashed potato and cauliflower cheese when it’s 30 degrees, even the churros was soft and undercooked. I liked that when you sat down a staff member would ask if you want a drink with your meal. It wasn’t always bad but I preferred to eat out in the evenings.
Location - Perfect. 10 mins to everywhere, beach, Old town, the strip. you name it and you’re there. Lovely and quiet too.
Few things that need improvement. The pool was like bath water, even though it’s in the shade till the early afternoon it wasn’t refreshing. You can’t get water after midnight, there’s a vending machine but no water fountain, as it’s all inclusive why do I have to pay again? People leaving towels on sun-loungers from 9am and not returning until 2pm, this is extremely selfish and unfair for other guests. The World Cup was shown in the downstairs entertainment room but there was no A/C or bar so we were all boiling hot and had to go upstairs if we wanted a drink, also the staff started to collect glasses during the game so kept getting in the way. All in all a nice break and had a great time.
