This hotel in the holiday resort of Benalmádena lies some 250 m from the sprawling, wide sandy beach and 1 km from the centre. A bus stop is located within just metres of the hotel, while scores of bars and pubs lie a short distance away, shops and restaurants as well as a nightclub are to be found in the centre of the town a mere 200 m to 400 m from the establishment. Surrounded by lush gardens, this elegant hotel is a perfect option for all those who wish to escape from hustle and bustle of the city life. The rooms are ample and well-equipped to provide a peaceful ambience in which to kick back at the end of the day. Guests may take advantage of the 2 swimming pools with integrated children's pool, bar, parasols and sun loungers. The in-house solarium is available for use by hotel guests. Sports enthusiasts may find leisure facilities in the vicinity of the establishment. The hotel runs a seasonal entertainment programme.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.

Booked through Jet2,flew from Bristol.Flights were good both ways.Short transfer from Airport to hotel.Booked in,rooms were ready by 2pm,we could use facilities.Requested rooms together ,which they gave us.Rooms are on the small side,the pull down bed was ok,but beware of the corners,ended up wrapping towels around them,after bashing shins numerous times.Bathroom ok,bit tired and grubby,if you have mobility issues,it’s a chore trying to get out the bath,as area is tight.Rooms cleaned daily and towels changed. Restaurant food was ok,never hot and if you are a vegetarian you could struggle. Outside areas tired and grubby.Tables stained and dirty,never saw the pool area being cleaned and muck was still there 2 days later.The pool steps weren’t clean 😬,which makes you wonder about water testing and cleanliness.Mini golf,well that’s a joke.Staff were nice everywhere and animations team work hard.Would I go back,no I wouldn’t.Oh and the walk back up the hill is steep.

Honest review
We stayed here late July. The hotel amenities were great and the rooms clean. However, some of the staff were quite rude and borderline aggressive. We were all inclusive but some families were obviously not. My seven year old granddaughter befriended a little girl by the pool. They both went to the snack bar where my granddaughter proceeded to make a burger for her and her new little friend. I looked over to see an older lady (from the bar) leaning right over into her face, pointing and shouting at her very aggressively. My granddaughter just stood there stiff with fear and couldn’t understand what she was being shouted at for (women was speaking Spanish). My son intervened and asked her not to point in her face. The woman then made mocking lip gestures to him. We worked out the little girl wasn’t all inclusive and shouldn’t have been having the food. This I understood but the woman should have just followed my granddaughter back to us and explained the situation. We would have explained this to our granddaughter. Instead she was left frightened to go anywhere near the snack bar alone. I was told off once for not queuing correctly at the bar. Apparently I should have been in a single file. I know we were in Spain, but a majority of staff didn’t speak any form of English. The food was plentiful but basic, the canteen was always super busy with kids running everywhere and very, very loud. Night time was also horrendous with kids screaming and yelling in the corridors. The hotel was nice as were the rooms and facilities. It was such a shame the staff have very little patience. They actually spoiled our experience and I would never go back there.

family holiday
location is on a hill,(cardiac) which is not good if you have mobility issues.Rooms are small ok for 2 people (3 would be tight ) on storage.cleanliness ok didnt see any problem.can be very noisy at meal times,Breakfast english sausages was tasteless, fried eggs layed out on hotplate,and most morning breakfast was cold.main meal at night was repetitive,ask if they do ice cream for Lactose intolerance, but was told no. service at reception was hit and miss , depening who you got,(dont know the names ) the gentlemam with the goatee beard was great would do any thing for you But the man with the bald head, didnt really want to help with our problem to make phone call s on our behalf to the airport (his words was i have 200 people to book in) even though i was the only one standing there !!!! the sunbeds at the pool are so uncomfortable and OLD do not ajust i think they are the same ones when i was there 3 years ago. went to the bar and ask for 2 plastic glases with ice (wanted to take my medcation with my water) had to pay a euro for the both glases which i took back to the bar on which i was given a card, which i returned on the last day expecting the return of my euro but was told no,you dont get it back (ok i know a euro aint a lot but to me it a good earner for the hotel or bar staff 100 people do what i did soon made 100 euro,nice liittle earner del boy would love that ) would i return to this hotel no.
A Fabulous Hotel
This has to be the friendliest hotel we have ever stayed in and for that reason we like to stay here around three times a year, From the moment you arrive you are not treated as guests but more like friends with the reception team headed by Stewart always giving us a warm welcome on arrival and do their utmost to ensure you have both an enjoyable and memorable holiday. The rooms are kept spotlessly clean by a hard working housekeeping team as are all the main areas of the hotel. The bar staff although extremely busy are very friendly and always give us a warm welcome back and show a genuine interest in everyone staying at the hotel. The restaurant offers a varied selection of food to satisfy all tastes and we never have any problem in finding something tasty to eat' The hotel is in the perfect location for us and please don't be out off by reviews mentioning the steep hill as it really isn't a problem. There is a very hard working Guest Manager Virginia who always greets you with a smile and will do her utmost to help with any questions you may have. All in all I have nothing but praise for this hotel and all the hard working team that are there and we are looking forward to our next stay in four weeks time.
Another wonderful stay
My twin brother and I stayed in Medplaya Hotel Bali for nine nights ,our stay here was really good but we knew it would be as we've stayed here at least 10 times over the years. The hotel is superb, spotlessly clean, reception staff are really efficient and fun ,our twin room was really good, comfortable beds ,fridge, flat screen tv,lots of storage space, bath/ W.C again spotlessly clean and balcony offering great views and very relaxing,a great chill put area ,the swimming pools are also fantastic, we were half board and both breakfast and evening meals were delicious, big choice both hot and cold options,hotel bars were superb, beers exceptionally cold, totally delicious, location wise this hotel couldn't be better placed with both Bonanza Square and Ibensa Square within easy walking distances, there's also lots of pubs,bars and restaurants all around the hotel and beach is only a short walk away ,all in all its a great hotel,cant wait to stay here again next Summer.
