Stayed at this Hotel for 7 nights from 15th September 26 We booked an Ocean Junior Suite All Inclusive. On arrival we were given a room with a shower over the bath which was extremely slippey and dangerous. On complaining we were told that a walk in shower was only available 2 days later. This stopped us from unpacking our cases fully and when eventually moved our day was wasted with moving. The reception staff was extremely unhelpful boarding on being rude. Because of the inconvenience we were promised a bottle of champagne with didn't arrive and when we queried this the next day a bottle of cheap Cava was left in the fridge. The food in the restaurant was a very poor quality and choices. No teapots for tea or teaspoons at breakfast. No fresh orange juice just orange out of a machine which tasted like Kiora disgusting !!! No lovely yogurt pots just one jug for everyone to use. No breakfast bowls for cereal people were stood around with arms folded waiting for them. How can a 4 star Luxe Hotel use pre mixed eggs out of a carton to make Omelette' because that's what you will get here if you want one for breakfast. The lunches and dinners were no better with very poor choices and quality. The pool area sunbeds are of the standard of a 2 star hotel. No thick cushions just basic beds which many need replacing because they are faded and haven't been cleaned. No drinks tables at all in the pool area and no waiter service. This is the first and last time we have stayed at a H10 Hotel. The Iberostar Hotel in Santa Posa where we stayed in June the difference is immense. They were excellent and nothing was too much trouble with attention to detail and service spot on with excellently trained staff. This hotel was not up to our standards in any shape or form and is inferior in every way. I would never recommend an H10 hotel to my family or friend who are both extensive travels.
How is it possible that in a Spanish 4* hotel you only have one red wine available at the bar - a Rioja Crianza! So many great Spanish red wines to choose from and that’s all you have to offer! Really poor!
This hotel is ideally located on a great beach which we enjoyed several walks along relaxing The hotel is very nice but like most could do with a little bit of tlc to the decoration and furnishings Food was excellent and varied Service at the poolside bar is at times poor due to lack of staff Speaking of the staff they are a great asset of the hotel and Angelique who checked us in was excellent The down side of our holiday was the bed.It was like sleeping on a ark bench terribly hard and uncomfortable I would visit this hotel again however I can see its isolated position will put some people off
Another great holiday in Estepona enhanced by staying at this hotel. Great staff and lovely setting. The pool area is spacious and always had sun beds available, looking forward to my next trip to Estepona.
The hotel being part of the H10 group I frankly expected higher standards. Our room had a constant and unresolved issue with the shower - it sounded like a jet engine at high revs. We reported it immediately l, they attempted to fix it, but made it fully inoperable. We reported it again and the water flow was restored, but the noise came back. The hotel made a very poor offer of two free drinks for the inconvenience. It’s okay to have a problem, it’s what you do to put it right is the most important thing. With poor maintenance standards, and extremely poor customer service follow up I would suggest H10 need to look at this.
The only other comments I would have were that the breakfast was like a scrum. Lots of people not organised in any way by the hotel milling around trying to get breakfast, milk jugs, tea, and coffee. I ve seen this done so much better elsewhere. It’s not a premium experience and don’t feel four star. The staff all looked glum and fed up. A little organisation and the presence of experienced managers would definitely of helped.
Overall not a bad stay for the area and convenient for the purpose we came for. But not the best H10 bu any means and not really a four star in my humble opinion.
