Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
I cannot recommend this resort. The reviews are extremely mixed and, having now stayed there, I believe that’s because the quality of the accommodation varies dramatically.
We paid extra for what we believed would be a superior room but were “upgraded” to a dated apartment that looked nothing like the modern accommodation shown in the promotional photos. The apartment had an overwhelming damp smell that was so bad we didn’t unpack our suitcases because we were worried our clothes would absorb it. One member of our family has asthma and another suffers from migraines, so masking the smell with industrial air freshener wasn’t a solution.
The safe also didn’t work despite staff attending to it, meaning we had to carry our valuables with us throughout the holiday.
We asked to move on day one but were told nothing was available and never received the promised call from the manager. After three nights, we discovered multiple large cockroaches throughout the apartment, including in the bedrooms and bedsheets. We were again told there were no rooms available and offered fumigation while our belongings remained inside the apartment, which wasn’t acceptable to us.
It was only after escalating the matter to easyJet and the hotel’s Instagram team that another apartment suddenly became available. By then, four days of a five-night holiday had already been ruined. EasyJet were excellent throughout, but we should never have been put in that position.
There was also drilling outside our apartment while workmen installed air conditioning units next door, making it difficult to relax. We were only allowed to use two swimming pools out of many (and these were the less appealing ones with rubbish sunbeds). The location is such that it’s expensive to get to the local towns to eat and there isn’t a great atmosphere onsite or much entertainment.
The complimentary breakfast, bottle of cava and written apology was appreciated, but it did not compensate for spending most of our holiday in accommodation that fell far below expectations.
I’ve never previously made a formal holiday complaint or requested a room move, so this isn’t something I do lightly. My advice is simple: book with caution as the photos on the website did not reflect the accommodation we received. EasyJet have taken my complaint seriously so improvements might happen, but the inconsistency in room quality makes staying here a gamble I wouldn’t take again.
I had a great experience station in Wyndham Hotel with my son and grandson. Wyndham resort was bigger an greater than i expected. I loved is, lovely personal and we've enjoyed our stay. Till next time!!
We have just arrived back from a lovely time at the Ramada suites Costa del Sol. There was 11 of us (3 separate families) and we all booked separately, I made the mistake of upgrading to a classic apartment which meant we were placed a 5-10 min walk away from the rest of the family but it worked out ok and meant we had use of both pools. We were in the 2 bed town houses at marina park, very modern and clean and well equipped . This area is busy as it’s right next to Zak’s bar/ restaurant and it’s hard to get a sunbed at peak times although this didn’t bother us too much as we had our private terrace with sunbeds about 3 steps away from the pool. The rest of our party were in apartments up the hill and had a much quieter setting with 2 much bigger pools which was lovely. We tended to make our own breakfast and lunch - occasionally went to Zak’s which was good for a snack, wee bit pricey but you expect this on a resort. At night we visited the steak house which is a 5 min walk down the hill from the marina park end and would highly recommend giving this authentic Spanish steak house a visit as it was great , think it was called la Granja. Other nights we got a taxi (. Approx 12 euros ) into la Cala which was recommended for families rather than busy Fuengirola, was a lovely wee resort with bars restaurants and stuff for kids to do, an open air cinema on the beach aswell. There is a couple of on site shops, we only visited Zak’s pantry which was quite pricey but had nice bakery items and essentials.there was a shop just on the street outside the resort which was slightly cheaper We had 4 kids and a teenager with us but we didn’t bother with kids clubs etc, the kids were happy to play in the pool all day so can’t comment on that. We did walk down to the beach one day, was about 10 minutes, there as couple of beach bars along the beach aswell. Overall we all had a lovely relaxing time at the pool by day and had nice clean accommodation, the only negative is that it’s a bit further out but if you’re just planning on being poolside all day then it’s not an issue. The staff we met were lovely and hardworking. The resort is very well kept.
We had a wonderful holiday, and the hotel was the perfect base for exploring the surrounding area. Our room was spacious, clean, and well maintained. Towels were changed every three days, and the rubbish was collected regularly. The staff, especially at Guest Services and during breakfast, were always friendly and helpful.
Breakfast was excellent, with a wide variety of fresh options. We especially appreciated being able to order several freshly prepared hot breakfast dishes from the menu, which was a great extra.
The swimming pool is not very large and is quite shallow, but it is still a pleasant place to cool off and relax.
There are plenty of great places to visit nearby. We highly recommend Bioparc Fuengirola, a beautifully designed zoo where the animals live in lush, natural surroundings. The Aquapark in Fuengirola is also worth a visit. Although it is not very large, it is great fun for a few hours.
We also enjoyed exploring the nearby cities. Málaga is a vibrant city with plenty of sights, excellent shopping, and many lovely restaurants and cafés. Marbella is another great destination, especially its lively promenade, where you can enjoy a good meal at very reasonable prices.
One of the highlights of our holiday was the Caminito del Rey. This spectacular walk through the gorge offers breathtaking scenery and beautiful nature. Our guide recommended starting the walk after 4:00 p.m. Many people assume that the morning is the best time to go, but the late afternoon is actually more enjoyable because it is cooler, less crowded, and the light in the gorge is stunning.
We also highly recommend visiting Ronda. The historic town is beautiful, with a charming shopping street, and of course the famous bridge offers spectacular views over the surrounding landscape.
Overall, we had a fantastic holiday. The hotel, the friendly staff, and the many wonderful places to visit nearby made it a memorable stay. We would definitely love to come back.
Beautiful resort across from the beach. Lots of UK families - English speaking which was nice as we're from the U.S. The pool was great, the suite was amazing. It would have been nice if there was an elevator as we had to haul our luggage up 17 steps. There was also not adequate parking. The train to get around was fun. Zac's restaurant was Americanized and not great, but the wait staff was wonderful. Overall a nice visit and I would stay again, but I would ask for a ground floor suite. It was also nice to have a washer/dryer combo to wash my clothes before we flew home. We only stayed one night, I wish we would have stayed at this location longer. We spent time with a lovely Scottish family and really enjoyed their company.
