Villa Flamenca

Just returned from a nice stay at this hotel. Breakfast excellent - more 4/5 star as wide range on offer and always clean tables when you walk in. Staff were friendly and helpful. We were disappointed with our comfort terrace room as it was on the ground floor looking at a wall, we thought it'd be a view of the mountains. Spoke to reception and they moved us to the last room available which was directly above so slightly better view over the wall onto the side street. I'd recommend the smaller pool rooms as you have a view and they are cheaper. Room itself was fine although the a/c wasn't very effective. Mini bar is stocked with drinks, and everything is 1 euro, you pay for what you use on checkout via an honesty form. We thought this was really handy. Pool area is lovely with a pool bar. There are not enough sunbeds for the number of rooms in the hotel so you had to be there at 9am by the pool to get a bed. Reception will check beds weren't being reserved which was appreciated. Location is good, a ten minute walk to balcon de Europe, and a 5 minute walk to Burriana beach ( via a steep hill). Reception helped us ordering taxis to and from the airport. A good 3 star hotel near the centre of nerja with helpful staff on hand - we enjoyed our stay.

Booked this as a package with Jet2. Bit of a journey from the airport but arrived at mid day. Room overlooking the pool was ready. Room was very comfortable, loads of hangers in wardrobe drawer space good. Balcony got the sun every afternoon and the air con was quiet and efficient. The buffet breakfast is outstanding. All the way from the cold meats and cheeses to full English and pastries. Everything was fresh and well presented. Coffee machines worked well and were constantly filled. The staff are exceptional. All friendly, seem happy and didn't laugh too much at my Spanish! Housekeeping I'm was amazing, by the time we returned from breakfast our room had been serviced every day
As everyone says, the hill to the beach is very steep, but come up by zig zagging along the streeta and it's easy. The opportunity to stop for a glass or two is hard to resist. The snack bar at the front of the hotel serves very good good, and is cheaper than the pool bar. Service at the latter is again exceptional. A brilliant week and we're planning to return in may.
