I paid £950 for a 9-day solo trip here, including flights (just over £100 a day), and that is exactly the lens you need to view this hotel through. Do not expect the Ritz; this is definitely a 3-star hotel.
The Room & Facilities
The biggest issue by far is the air conditioning. It is incredibly weak in the rooms, and there is virtually no AC in the communal areas either. I actually had broken AC in my first room and had to escalate it to morning management to get moved. Beyond the heat, be prepared for ants, they are unavoidable in the rooms, but it is understandably accepted due to the area. The mini-fridge is also very weak, even on the highest setting. The WiFi and data signal in the rooms are poor (though likely better if your room is closer to the lobby), and the TV does not support screen casting, so definitely pack a Fire Stick or Chromecast if you want to do that. On the plus side, the housekeeping is excellent, and the rooms are cleaned very well.
Food, Drink & The Water Hack
The food is okay if you are not feeling adventurous, but the overall selection is quite limited. I actually skipped breakfast entirely after the first few days as the quality was really poor, though lunch and dinner are manageable. The drinks selection at the bar is decent, but only one bar is ever open at a time. Be aware of the evening cut off, there is a two drink limit per person from 10:30 pm until the all inclusive ends at 11:00pm.
A massive tip: Refill your water bottles in the restaurant. I didn't see anyone else doing this, but it saves you buying from the mini-market across the road, which is surprisingly expensive (€19 for 6 x 1.5L bottles of water and 6 x 500ml cans of Estrella).
Pool, Beach & Entertainment
The pool area is probably the highlight of the hotel. Sunbed availability is incredibly easy, even if you arrive at midday. I found there is very little of the usual towel reserving culture. The umbrellas are bolted to the ground (likely due to the wind), which thankfully stops people from fighting over them, and there is a lovely sea view from the poolside. Absolutely pack towel clips, the Canarian winds will take your towels away when you're not on them otherwise!
There is a very clear distinction between the pool and the beach, which is a couple of minutes walk away. The beach sunbeds are not part of the hotel and will cost you €9 per person for the day. If you don't want to pay for beach sunbeds, don't bother heading down there unless you are just going for a leisurely stroll or you like laying on a towel on the sand.
Daytime entertainment is your standard holiday fare (darts, rifle shooting, ping pong, aqua aerobics), while the evening entertainment isn't amazing, consisting mainly of just music.
Vibe & Practicalities
The staff are generally quite nice, and the hotel is very welcoming for solo travellers. However, the clientele is primarily German, so if you are a Brit looking to easily make friends abroad, it is not the easiest place to mingle. There is a pharmacy nearby which is handy.
A few final practical warnings: The luggage storage room is not secured properly; it feels like anyone could just walk in and take your stuff. Also, ignore what it says online about the room safe costing €4 a day, the safe is actually free to use. That €4.50 daily fee is just an optional insurance for your belongings inside it, which I skipped without any issues. However, you do need cash for refundable deposits: €10 for the beach towel and €20 for the safe, so bring at least €30 in cash with you.
Would I come here again? No, I wouldn't, but I am not the kind of person who goes to the same place twice. As someone who was looking just to get away from it all for a bit, it did the job, but honestly, it could have been better. If I were to suggest one key improvement for the next time the hotel gets renovated, it would 100% be the air conditioning.
I say this without prejudice and its true to fact. Where do I start. Checkin, what a joke, there's your room key and case of Goodluck finding your room. About as helpful as a genii in a bottle. Next room. Basic is an understatement. Clean but thats about the best I can say. Entertainment, what a joke. Singer was on and I thought it was karaoke to be honest. Let's put it this way its a good way of putting you to sleep. Evening bar. Complete nitemare. Queue was outside to swimming pool at times. Serious lack of staff. Food. Goodluck on this one. Always tepid to cold, variety is a joke. Come on how can you burn rice. Seriously. Now we come to tourists. Mmmmm I counted on 1 hand English at the hotel. Great if you speak German which holds approx 90% of people in hotel. Manners go out the window here. In hindsight sight there is no way this is 4 star. It's 2 at the most. A major revamp is required at this hotel. Take into account £986 for 1 wk. Never again. I've stayed in better for alot less. What ive written is true to fact without prejudice. Sorry but avoid at all costs
The hotel has stop at the RFN/NRD era. It felt like back in time, old-looking, falling lightly apart, with holes and cracks here and there, some pretty serious. Our apartment was an open plan living area that played kids bedroom too, bedroom with wardrobes and a window that was impossible to open to the certain point - it was either open wide or none, and a bathroom pretty decent size. Air conditioning - it was there, but like AI- not real and none existent. The fan in the bedroom and living area was working and barely giving any air. On our last day, when we were moving sofas kids were sleeping on to find our things to pack up we found out there was a massive cockroach staying with us and probably wanting to say goodbye and accommodated itself under the table in the living room. It was the biggest cockroach I've ever seen, and so far I've seen none. You can see photos attached and look for our extra hotel guest that we didn't pay for. The hotel doesn't offer much, but it's location is the only advantage as the hotel has its own access to a beautiful beach, seaside with a coast guards aside. The hotel has its own pool, 1.50m deep in the deepest point and a small with 40cm depth. The morning run to "book" the sunbeds in front of the hotel by the pool happens from 5-6am, while the hotel instruct everyone not to do it, no one listens. The kitchen doesn't serve anything super healthy and Spanish -origin except pour quality paella and dried out churros, the rest of served food was continental and concentrated on German clientele, unhealthy and heavy to digest. Cakes were repetitive and not interesting, only fruits look kind of a healthy option, but not always. All items served, at least 90% were made somewhere else, and definitely not prepared in the hotel. The juice machine was empty very quick, coffee machine broke down on 2 occasions. The hotel offers another bar and lunch hall, that rarely had any food served and if they served there were things left over from lunch served in the main dinning hall. The seaside bar is non existent, there is no kids club at all, no attractions for kids, nothing - we choose this hotel based on this info and it was bad choice. The evening entertainment team was doing their best as they could and if not for the open evening bar it probably wouldn't be interesting. The deposit for a save (€20 a stay) and for beach/pool towel (€10 each) is refundable. The internet access is only in the hotel premises, but the best is in the reception hall and is free. Massive credit to all hotel employees - reception team, cleaning lady , kitchen staff and bartenders, and also entertainment team - those people were amazing doing their best in not attractive place making our stay as great as possible. The car hire company with very good deals is just by the side of the hotel. In general, the hotel is not suitable for families with children as there's not much to do for children, except pool and sea swimming. Overall I rate this hotel as 3/5 and more likely we won't ever be back there.
Terrible handling of guests and zero accountability! My experience with this hotel was completely unacceptable. After arriving exhausted from a long journey, we were told at the front desk that our room was not available and that we had to be relocated to another hotel. To make things worse, we were informed that there was no manager on-site to help resolve the issue or provide any assistance. Leaving guests stranded without a room and with no management present to handle the situation shows a shocking lack of professionalism and basic customer care. Having a confirmed booking should mean something. Instead, we were left stressed and forced to move with our luggage because of their overbooking or administrative failure. I would strongly advise anyone against booking this hotel if you expect a reliable and stress-free stay. George
The hotel itself is not perfect and there is definitely room for improvement. However, I left Fuerteventura with something far more valuable than memories of the hotel. This island has a unique kind of magic. The ocean, the beaches, the wind, the night sky and the moonlight reflecting on the water create a sense of peace that stays with you long after you return home. What made the biggest difference, though, were the people working at the hotel. They were genuinely kind, welcoming, helpful and always ready to share a smile. They made us feel truly welcome. Sometimes a small gesture or a few kind words mean more than luxury or perfect facilities. Thank you to everyone whose warmth and kindness made this holiday so special. I came home with beautiful memories, a sense of peace, and something much more valuable – a reminder of the joy that life can still bring.
