Blue Sea Jandia Luz

English family of 4 (2 adults + 7 year old girl + 9 year old boy w/cerebral palsy). Paid £3,000 all in for 2 weeks all inclusive flying from Birmingham.

Firstly, value for money is exceptional. We also spent day Occidental Jandia Mar, so can compare to that. Here you have THE best location, next to the best beach, cosmo shopping centre, the strip of main shops and morro jable, all without no crazy hills. Location is amazing. Then, hotel is relaxed and chilled. No queues for the bar or food and no chaos. Smaller hotels are so much better for this. Occidental had no chill and was manic (and windy) although slides were great. Then about the wind which is annoying at Occidental as you are up a hill, here you dont feel hardly any wind in hotel or beach, its just a nice breeze. For 2 weeks we had amazing weather. Also, its chilled here cos they let kids have fun in the pool but not act like maniacs. Which imo is way it should be. In 2 weeks here all the families seem to have the best time. Entertainment is not loads but was super. Remember how much you are paying. Value for money is the best. Rooms are also refurbished and great, we was in 416 with a pool view. Now the food, lots of choice and constantly refilled. The all inclusive here is such good value, really the food is better than expected for the price. We ate breakfast, lunch and dinner here everyday and also treated kids to local pizza when out. San Miguel at the bar is great. Honestly do 2 weeks, enjoy the area, chill at the hotel, swim in the pool, have fun on the beach which is 2 mins away and don't moan, this is a bargain. Staff are very helpful also.

Now for some tips:

• the tv is a smart tv, like the way you got on the wifi on your phone. Add name, surname and room number and you get youtube, netflix etc
• for normal tv though if english show to get in english click on 3 lines remote and change to original language
• wash you feet after beach by reception
• taxi’s anywhere close are under €5
• go to oasis wildlife zoo, its amazing and you can get on a coach there
• drink san miguel or cocktails
• for prem league games go la grada or place by taxis after cosmo.
• best pizza is in cosmo, Fuerte Pizza

Also, dont moan at what you are missing, be grateful for all you have got for the price you paid. Occidental Jandia Mar costs 3 times as much, is up a massive hill and is not as chilled. Each to their own, but we loved Bluesea Jandia Mar for so many reasons

We arrived late at night to discover that everything on the island seems to shut at 11pm, which would be fine if we were provided food or snacks given that the hotel knows there will be late arrivals.

When we proceeded to check in at the reception desk we then found that we had to pay a deposit for a fan, which we have never had to do in any other hotel. Once given the remotes, they were very complicated to figure out and our fan in the living room was hanging off the wall.

I will say that the rooms are spacious however they were often extremely warm. The fridge wasn’t ever very cold and the TV is fully Spanish with no way to change it.

Our first morning felt like a fight to get a sunbed anywhere as people reserve them and go on days out. Nothing was ever done about this.

The pool is very cold but was as expected pretty good. However on some days there is activities in the pool but only for a short while.

The pool bar was hit or miss, it essentially depends on which bartender you have. The woman is lovely and spoke English well, her drinks were definitely best. We cannot fault her at all. However most of the male bartenders did not understand English and therefore made the wrong drinks.

The food is indescribably bad. Breakfast is probably your best bet for eating, lunch is okay but dinner is usually poor. If you stay here you will realistically eat the same things day in day out. There is literally one table of food in the restaurant so if you are picky or come with fussy children I would not in anyway recommend.

There is very little to do around the place. There is however a beach which seems to be dodgy at night time so isn’t ideal. Restaurants and bars shut at random times without any notice. We found a couple places that just never seemed to be open. With this being said there is a lovely cafe called sun shack, which was tasty and a pizza place in the shopping centre which is cheap and easy for dinner.

Overall, I wouldn’t come back here ever again. It was expensive for a below average experience. You will end up spending money just to get out of the restaurant.

The rooms were clean and generally well maintained, so I have no complaints about the cleanliness of the accommodation.

Unfortunately, the food was a completely different story. We stayed all inclusive, but the quality and freshness of the food were extremely disappointing. There was very little that looked fresh, and a lot of the food appeared to have been refrigerated or sitting out for a long time. The selection was also quite poor.

You could genuinely see the disappointment on people’s faces in the restaurant. There were people walking around with empty plates, seemingly unable to find anything they wanted to eat.

For me, it got to the point where I had to go to the supermarket and buy bread, cheese and ham just to have something decent to eat, despite already paying for an all-inclusive stay.

The staff and cleanliness were fine, but for an all-inclusive hotel, the food needs a major improvement. I would recommend staying here on a room-only basis if the food situation remains the same, but I personally would not choose the all-inclusive option again.
