Dunas Mirador

I came away with my two little girls on our first little girls family holiday we have had the best time and has been so relaxed, Barbara was amazing my girls done colouring with her in the shade relaxed and the water games they absolutely and gave them confidence to do it. We have had the best time so far and would 100% recommend the hotel to friends with families

I know this is a 3 star and I have stayed in many over the years, most of which have been outstanding compared to here. Room - very large and we had a huge balcony. Rooms are dated with very few sockets- bring an extension lead. We had air con unit which was noisy, didn't do lot for the heat in the room - it was like a sweat box! Also couldn't leave it on when out as even though paid for pool view we overlooked busy residential road and would have had to leave balcony door open for unit to be on. The heat in room really was insane, uncomfortable and made sleeping difficult. Was told couldn't be moved as hotel full even though room wasn't what we paid for. Location - middle of nowhere, nothing around. €35 taxi each way into Puerto Mogan - which is beautiful and worth a visit we had the best food here Food in hotel - absolutely shocking! Poor quality, not enough selection and restaurant nowhere near big enough for number of guests. Snack bar was ok if you want to live on burger, hotdogs, pizza and chips. Twice we had upset stomach from eating in restaurant- once after chicken and again after prawns. The only decent meal was Italian night on Thursday. Bar area/drinks - there is 1 bar, the pool bar. Which is busy, noisy and manned by 1 person. Self serve drinks were often off and they didn't like you going to bar asking for drinks. Soft drinks and water were never cold always luke warm. Plastic cups in day but still wouldn't give glass in evening. Witnessed many other guests being given glasses but when asked was told not allowed. Guests were being treated differently which is pet hate of mine. Cocktails are undrinkable, wine needs lemonade to tolerate it and beer you will be fed up of after 3 days, especially when you've had a proper pint elsewhere.There needs to be another bar where you can relax. Sunbeds - the war is real! You will get friendly with whoever is sat next to you as you are literally touching. Hotel itself- nowhere near big enough to accommodate number of guests, not the cleanest. Staff don't enforce no food around pool - you'll see same food left there next day. We had power cut one night that lasted 3 and half hours, the following 3 nights they couldn't do any entertainment as all mics, speakers were out - no one thought to share this with guests, could have chosen to go out (albeit it would have been expensive as nothing around) Communication is shocking! There is so little room that if you have mobility issues, a pram or generally clumsy be prepared for an assault course when navigating the pool, bar, or anywhere in hotel. The only saving grace of this holiday was the weather - beautiful!, animation team - they work so hard and are only staff members who are cheerful, love hate bar next door - great staff and excellent food, chinese restaurant- lovely food. Maybe my standards are too high but I would never return here. Spent fortune on eating and drinking out (plus taxi as nothing close by), the room was truly unbearable, rude staff and even ruder guests - don't expect smile or thank you if you let them through. There are far better hotels for your money.

The Mirador hotel is perfect for a family trip, the staff and amenities and entertainment is amazing, definitely recommend. Cintia especially does an amazing aqua gym class. She's the best.
