Modern, avant-garde and familiar, this fantastic hotel is located in the charming fishing village of Arguineguín, south of Gran Canaria, it offers wonderful sunsets overlooking the sea. It has several areas of amenities, pool area with direct access to the beach, a solarium to appreciate the immense Atlantic Ocean, a unique spa and wellness center, a gym equipped with state-of-the-art instruments, a children's club for the little ones enjoy, restaurant with gastronomic variety and bars to spend the nights of partying and relaxation. The rooms were made for the guest to rest and enjoy, and the facilities are inclusive for people with disabilities. 30 minutes from the hotel is the International Airport of Gran Canaria, and 15 minutes away is the town of Playa del Inglés, where visitors can know and enjoy the people and local culture, shop in stores, restaurants and nightclubs.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
The hotel was clean and conveniently situated within walking distance of the local shops, spa supermarket and bus stop is just a 5/10min walk to take you into Puerto Rico and Mogan etc only a couple of euros. The beach area is right outside. We loved swimming there daily snorkelling looking at the fish.
The pool area was pretty loud with music, but we enjoyed it, pool was quite deep but lovely and warm sunbeds were of course being reserved from 7am, they do remove towels before 6.30am but if you want a bed by the pool you do need to get up and out early unfortunately. We, however, preferred the other side away from the pool. It was slightly quieter and more room. Do be aware of your stuff around the pool as we had an expensive water bottle go missing, and the kids' sinkers were also taken. The entertainment staff were great but we didn't do much just water exercises, not many games offered really and they weren't well advertised, did take part in beer pong which was a giggle! Our kids are too old for kids club now, but i don't think there was any supervised club that I saw.
Nighttime entertainment was okish. Some of the acts were pretty lame to be honest and all finished by 10.30/ 11pm. Most people just sat around playing card games. Drinks on AI were branded and good, and they made cocktails for you. Floor no. 5 is really nice at night a more relaxing sophisticated vibe, and the musicians and singers were really good.
The room was really spacious with a kettle/coffee maker, fridge, and small hob- you do need to ask to get the cupboard unlocked to gain access to cups plates, etc. We were on floor 9 and it had a beautiful beach&pool view. Solarium on floor 9 was also lovely with a hot tub, its very hot up there remember to take a water bottle with you, as nothing there (also hotel don't provide water bottles, but you can fill one up in the bar, however the water is awful tasting)
Oh and not forgetting the spa downstairs that was really nice and relaxing and kids are allowed in between 10-12am which is great.
Food was good but have had better AI, some of our party were vegetarian and they struggled abit as the food wasn't labeled correctly.
Breakfast was nice, the English breakfast was one of the best tasting I've had abroad! Freshly served pancakes but no pastries only plain croissants which we found strange. Also not too much choice for desserts but still a nice tasting selection.
All in all yes I'd recommend this hotel but not if your looking for something very lively, this is a pretty chilled family hotel.
Big shout out to the wonderful José on reception this guy is absolutely amazing, super helpful really lovely guy nothing is too much trouble ❤️
Just returned from7 night stay the hotel is lovely and clean staff over friendly and helpful entertainment team brilliant with the kids enjoyed sunset bar prior to evening meal only issue had was selfish people with sun beds but after years of this don’t think it’s gonna change we took a bed for all of us as family of 6 just to enable sit down inbetween swims hotel makes easy access to nearby Puerto Rico by taxi 10 euros and access to attractions aqualand Sioux City Palmitos park which were all excellent. I celebrated a birthday whilst there and the hotel left a card and bottle of champagne which was such a lovely personal touch would highly recommend staying here Thankyou dorado beach for an amazing holiday
Currently on day 5 of our 9 night stay. We are a group of 10, ages ranging from 4-70. We were worried as the last couple of reviews weren’t great just before we travelled, however we have nothing but positives about this hotel. We arrived late in evening, check in was smooth, we dropped our bags to room and went into restaurant for cold foods. Hotel is very clean, staff work very hard. Housekeeping everyday, even made beautiful arrangements with our PJs. Entertainment has be great both around the pool and in the evening. Hotel facilities are fabulous, spa which children can join you between 10-12 in the morning. Gym if that’s what you fancy, games room, indoor soft play. Food has been great, always found something to eat. Food in pool bar great, cooked to order, drinks very generous measures! Short walk to the beach, watched the beautiful sunset near the rocks by the hotel. Would definitely recommend this hotel and would definitely return. Can’t wait to enjoy the rest of our holiday.
The hotel is ok. Cleanliness isn’t the best. We ate outside for breakfast most morning and found broccoli, chips, carrots etc still under the tables from the night before. The food is plentiful but not very well seasoned so quite bland. The pool area is very busy and it’s hard to get a sunbed round the main pool after 7am. The rooms are cleaned satisfactory, with the towels only getting cleaned and changed 3 times a week. You do get lots of children allowed to scream and shout and run down corridors and bang doors at 2am in the morning which seems wholly acceptable by their parents! Check out is at 11am with NO room available for a shower, you have to use the toilet and shower in the spa area and there is only 1. On the plus side it’s great if you have little ones, the bar/fast food area is nice and all the staff in there and the restaurant area are super friendly. Would I stay here again…… probably not as the surrounding area is very quiet with not a lot to do and not a lot of shops. Puerto Rico is only 10 mins away on the bus if you like hustle and bustle and Mogan is stunning with beautiful scenery.
We have just returned from a weeks’ stay here and honestly couldn’t fault the hotel - rooms clean, food great, alcoholic drinks great - branded Coca Cola etc. Nobody unwell during our stay! We were worried after reading the reviews about hygiene but needn’t have worried.
