Gloria Palace Royal Hotel and Spa

Beautiful hotel, amazing infinity pool with spectacular views, pool at a lovely temperature. I asked for top floor room with beach view and that’s exactly what we were given, thank you. Room was clean, bed comfortable, lots of storage, lovely touch of top of up tea/coffee and bottle of water everyday. Daytime entertainment was brilliant and Patryk is worth his weight in gold, he really is the heart and soul of Gloria Palace, I can see why many people return just for him. Evening entertainment was very hit and miss, although everyone tried their best. We had 3 or 4 good singers and a magician that were the best in the two weeks we were there, we were sad to miss the Michael Jackson tribute which was scheduled for our first Monday but didn’t happen. Walter was the best in our 2 weeks and absolutely a pleasure to listen to. Food was plentiful and always able to find something to eat, even though sometimes things were not to our taste, but always salad and fresh cooked meats available on those days, plenty of food available for many nationalities visiting. Evening bar service was a strange one, its table service so you have to wait for someone to come to you, which can be along time when they are busy, with few staff, this is ok though and we didn’t mind waiting. What I personally did mind was was on certain nights a male server would bring my husband drinks without him asking (which was nice) but I was totally ignored and would not be offered a drink, despite me having an empty glass, he would put a drink down for my husband then walk away, only once did he ever ask if I would like a drink. I would therefore have to wait for another server to come past and ask for my own drink. It made me feel quite invisible on those occasions, and I’m not quite sure why my husband was given so many drinks and I wasn’t given the same service.

All in all though we had a lovely 2 weeks and would certainly visit again and recommend to family and friends.

The only fault I had with the hotel was the evening entertainment let it down every thing else was perfect

A lovely hotel, although a little dated it was spotlessly clean and the staff were exceptional. Rooms are large, bath as well as separate shower in the bathroom and stunning views from the balcony over the bay.
The infinity pool is absolutely stunning. The food choices were excellent, plenty of fish and meat freshly cooked to your liking both at lunchtime and evening meal The entertainment is varied, a special mention to Patryk who was the daytime entertainer. Evening entertainment somewhat varied! The hotel is ideally located to explore the island, nearby to Mogan which is a must to explore. My only criticism would be the lack of information about facilities for example where you collect towels for Pool use and what is included if you are all inclusive. Overall an excellent stay and would definitely return.
