Would give no stars if possible! Area outside reception filthy with cigarette butts and dirty glasses, toilets in reception area filthy. But worst experience was with Hotel Reception ‘Manager’. I left my purse behind in room on check out went back to get it from reception and money had been taken from purse. I asked ‘manager’ what can be done and if I could have contact details for housekeeping manager. He said they don’t speak English and manager wasn’t in today. I asked what could be done further and he got aggressive on questioning saying it was my fault for leaving the purse behind he trusts the cleaners and cursed at me to fellow staff under his breath as I walked away. Highly unprofessional
This is a lovely big hotel in a fantastic location for views. The location isn’t so good if you like to go for walks etc or like a change of scenery. The walk into the town centre is definitely not suitable for less abled/pushchairs etc. The walk back is brutal for most but there’s plenty of taxis for under 6€. It’s a very family friendly hotel, it’s huge and can feel like a bit of maze initially. The views are amazing. We had a junior suite with sea view. The room was large, separate bedroom, sofa, table, small kitchen area. Large balcony with table and chairs and 2 sun loungers which is great. The views we had were some of the best we’ve had. The beds are two singles pushed together with separate duvets etc. Mattresses are quite soft. The storage in the room was the best I’ve experienced, even a shoe rack. Good sized shower. The air con was in both the bedroom and lounge area and again fantastic. There are usb/usb-C charging points on each side of bed so we didn’t need our plugs. The adult only spa pool was lovely. Not too busy, plenty of sun loungers. The other pool areas felt extremely busy but it was peak season. People do seem to reserve loungers although officially not allowed. Good choice of all inclusive food and drinks. Can get busy but no issues with finding a table. I think for a 4 star I was expecting slightly more. The sheets were not changed once during our stay, I’d have expected this at least once. My biggest negative would be the cleanliness of the floor in our room. Despite the cleaners coming daily to change towels, empty bins etc. The floor wasn’t cleaned once. We had to take shoes into the bathroom to put on once we’d showered otherwise our feet would be black. One evening there wasn’t any toilet paper in any of the toilets near the bars/entertainment for the whole night. It would have been nice have some tea/coffee/sugar sachets in the room (something we’ve always got in any 4 star establishment). It was nice to get a bottle of water in the fridge and a packed dinner on arrival as we arrived after food service had finished. The staff are very friendly and work extremely hard. It was a lovely holiday, extremely hot weather. The UV levels here are crazy. For a family with children there is so much to keep them occupied. Not so much for a couple. For a lovely day out I’d recommend getting a boat to Puerto Mogan. It’s only 14€ return, takes approx half an hour and the area is lovely (Little Venice). Definitely worth a visit. The Planet Steakhouse in Puerto Rico Shopping Centre is fantastic if you fancy eating out.
This place is the best all inclusive we have ever had. 10 days and the food has been amazing every meal. Went out for food once and felt we had wasted money because the food was better in the hotel. Pools lovely and clean and stay open till 10:30 pm. Smirnoff vodka on all inclusive. Amardores beach free bus and definite worth a visit. Will definitely return to this hotel. All the staff are lovely at reception.
Not sure if this is of any help to anyone 😀 just returned from an amazing week away. Stunning location, food amazing, rooms are lovely - brilliant air con, which really helped with the heatwave. Balls are allowed at the pool, try not to get hit in the head 🤣🤣🤣 The waterslides were a great bonus to the pool area. I did see 2 kids slip around the pool, definately would recommend wearing crocs around the poolside. Spar shop next door if you need anything, great selection of sun lotion if you need extra. ATM outside the Spar. We used the free bus down to Amadores, but easy to get a taxi along the seafront back to the hotel for around 5 euros. You can easily book taxis from reception, Mogan Mall is great if you have teens looking for a bit of a shop, around 5 euros each way. My son wanted a footy shirt, we did look at the commercial centre but felt 40euros was alot for the poor quality. He ended up buying an official shirt in Mogan Mall on offer for 60euros so felt it was worth the extra. We did the all inclusive option and as we are not big drinkers this was good for us, soft drinks available are coke, sprite, coke zero, fanta and fanta lemon. Beer tap available by the pool. For anything different you can go to the pool bar in the day or lobby bar in the evenings. Wines and sangria also available at mealtimes. The cups arent the biggest so you can bring a larger plastic cup, we bought some in a shop at Amadores beach. We paid extra a couple times for ice creams in the lobby, the pistachio is amazing! I think it was 3.90euros for one scoop in a cone/pot. We would definately return at some point, and will be recommending this to family and friends.
This is a wonderful hotel but the service has been abysmal. No one to help find a table, no tables set so you have to set your own cutlery, huge queues at the bar with one person serving in peak summer, most staff look absolutely miserable and dirty cups until late morning around the pool area.
There are many positives and you will have a good holiday, I can only compare to the three star we stayed in last year which was far superior in every aspect.
Positives:
Friendly and helpful reception. Lovely smell all over the place and the whole hotel is immaculate Unbelievable views. Stunning. Amazing gelateria. You pay unless all inclusive plus however it is very cheap and excellent ice creams! Overall the food is good for an all inclusive. Repetitive in some areas but decent. Good choice of meat and fish, excellent Chinese section. Please pass compliments to this chef, he works so hard! Very good pizzas 🍕 lovely salads and desserts and choc fountain is a big plus point! Slides- only two but lots of fun Infinity pool and adult pools are stunning Absolutely amazing beach nearby. Very hard to walk back as you are so high up but cheap taxis available and we had a great time at the beach.
Negatives
Most staff are miserable and look like they don’t want to be here. Compliments to the female entertainment staff member who does the aqua gym. She is lovely. A family was unhappy and she was listening to them. She got everyone involved in the pool and she was very kind to the kids. The other entertainment. Staff are totally lacking in personality and we never felt how we usually do because they just don’t seem to want to be there. Same with bar staff. Two guys on the bar were absolutely lovely. The rest were miserable. You can only order three drinks max. This is hard for families and groups. All inc plus get fresh cocktails and all inc are all pre made so this means that there are large queues. They need so many more staff on the two bars to avoid queues. It ends at 11pm which is fine but more staff needed! The blonde bar lady would look at the queues and not serve until she had to, unfriendly and could not give two hoots about the customers waiting. They all work hard but they just do not have the staff for the capacity at the hotel. Main pool: boiling. Now I like a warmer pool but this pool is far too hot: 🥵 it’s also packed with people. You cannot have inflatables which I agree with and this is because there are too many in it!!!! Location: easy to get into town on cheap taxis but I prefer somewhere you can easily walk to: this is not the hotels fault. Lack of management presence. Only saw management twice being really present in a weeek. Total lack of tables for the entertainment. Sooo many families unable to sit and watch any shows as not enough tables.
This was a lovely hotel but massively lacking in service which we are used to for this class of resort: they need more staff and ones who are happy to help and serve people. We will not return here. Cannot believe the amazing reviews, I was chatting with a few people and they said the same, so I know I am not losing my mind! This is all my opinion only and clearly others love the place.
