Paradisus by Melia Gran Canaria

Very disappointed in lack of staff in restaurants and poor service food is cooked then left out not cooked to order at cooking stations and therefore is lukewarm warm inc eggs at breakfast steaks chicken etc plenty of alcohol but we don’t drink much food quality and variations not five star for sure . Kanna restaurant staff unfriendly service very poor No sides with the food ie we had skewers said with potatoes and veg we had 3 tiny bits of potato roasted 1/3 of asparagus two tiny pieces of red pepper altho there were two big skewers of steak that was very good such a weird meal all the starters are capaciou which is strange taste for most people Awful desserts

The lounge areas are beautiful well furnished with high quality the restaurant areas are also lovely the rooms are small but again nicely furnished except floors facing the roadside face busy road pharmacy etc the other side is sea view

The pool is very good and splash pool for children good Entertainment poor

Would we come again. No overall bad value for money And def not overall 5 star such a shame has the potential to be amazing We have mentioned our concerns and feedback to the hotel

After a small delay we arrived to a private transfer and they knew who we were at check in. We had booked all inclusive plus an indulgent escape with jet. Turns out we would have to pay €600 more for adults only area the reserve. We didnt bother as out of season. We were given a map and sent to our room. The corridors are very sparsly/not decorated.(Thought Jack Nicholson was about to appear!)Walked in to threadbare towels, a broken shower which was made for short people and a minibar with beer etc but no wine. Deckchairs on the balcony.No instructions on how to use air con etc.Everything was on the app.....it wasn't. We manage to book resturants and could see menus but thats it. No activities, entertainment,spa etc. It took us 4 days to get to cast to the tv. When we finally got the information( they have a small print out at conceige desk which is for reserve guests). Entertainment is poor but we made the best we could. Saw a few cockroaches buy the towels opposite the stage whilst there. Not one comfortable chair to sit on anywhere in the hotel. Children in the adult only bar after 10pm(not allowed) But the worst was the food and service. The service is appalling! Better inside the buffet and resturants. Food at the resturants is ok. Quite a few meals are extra unless you have a blue/red/black band( membership of melia) The food is disgraceful, its lukewarm at best. Breakfast is about the best but you need to be up early to get fresh food after 9.30 its not refilled very fast at all. Evening meal is mainly inedible unless you want raw fish and salad. They dont really do show cooking but they have a cook serve deserts from behind a chilled counter, Having to ask for more than one item you get a look of why! Drinks are ok but none of the cruzcampo beer as advertised. Plates cracked on more than one occasion, dirty pots everywhere. Sticky tables. Have to use cutlery for starters/mains etc. They take them off your plate and put them back on the table for your next course! Both myself and husband saw more of the bathroom than anywhere else! No fighting for sunbeds but gazebos are extra€100 a day Room service available but €20 delivery Beds are comfy and the housekeeping do an amazing job once we found the do not disturb sign. Tip. Go to gate to the beach turn left and go to El Capitan! Fresh food and wonderful service and a chair you can sit on.

We had a wonderful week. All the staff were so helpful and friendly. We had a sea view premier room and it was very nice and very clean as was the rest of the hotel. The spa looked amazing, but we did not go in there. Pool area was lovely and we always got sunbeds whatever time we got there. We really enjoyed the food and went to the Italian and local cuisine restaurant where I had lamb and it was the best I’ve ever had! We really enjoyed our week, so relaxing we will definitely return.
