- Taurito Princess Hotel

This family friendly all inclusive hotel is located right at Taurito beach. All of the rooms and suites enjoy magnificent views over the sea and beach. Puerto de Mogán, with its beautiful marina within 4 km and 9 km from Puerto Rico. Restaurants, bars and access to public transport are all located in the vicinity. This enchanting establishment offers large and bright rooms and suites, some of them feature a colourful design and the others pale violet tones, fitted with cosy furniture and modern amenities to make guests' stay as comfortable as possible. For dining and wining travellers may choose from 2 buffet-style restaurants and 4 bars. Children may delight in kids' playground, two paddling pools (one with a giant dragon) and hotel entertainment, while adults plunge at the freshwater pools, work out at the gym or relax at the sauna.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
We just returned from a lovely 2 week stay (2 adults 2 teenagers). The hotel is very clean, in the mornings you see tens of cleaners doing a very thorough clean of the bar and pool areas, and in the evenings the pools themselves are cleaned (we saw cleaners diving in the pool). The rooms were spacious and again very clean and modern.
Food was great. We ate in the one restaurant which has a small a la carte menu on 5 nights and the rest in the main buffet restaurant the other nights, which had a decent variety of food which was of a good quality. If you opt for the upgrade (which we did) you can get drinks served to you in the buffet restaurant (although sometimes getting served was a bit tricky as the staff were so busy)
The wifi in the hotel is pretty good (2 teenagers are heavy users) and it only disconnected a few times.
No issues getting a sunbed (although we were in the sectioned off upgrade area).
Entertainment was standard holiday stuff in the evenings and enjoyable. Some nights it would be busy but you'd always get a seat.
The beach is very close by, its a black sand beach but not the cleanest, the water quality in the sea there wasnt brilliant either so we generally stuck to the pools which are large and clean (so if you are a big beach fan maybe travel to one of the nearby towns).
The hotel is 5 minutes away from the beautiful town of Mogan (you can see it in the distance) but due to a landslide you had to go towards Puerto Rico and take a different road in so 25 minutes instead of 5, but the hotel lays on a free daily bus (well worth going a couple of times and trying some food there one evening for something a but different).
The staff were brilliant, very friendly and having a laugh, especially the bar staff who make great cocktails (although some of the guests were extremely rude to the staff).
Its a long transfer to and from the airport on some very twisty roads, so if you have little ones maybe consider a private transfer (i even felt a little sick on the journey!)
My kids commented this was the most relaxing holiday they'd had
We loved staying here. Food is plentiful, lots of choice. Room was clean. Hotel grounds were clean. There is always staff cleaning garden, grounds, pool areas etc. Staff are friendly. Plenty of activities to keep us occupied. Great selection of branded drinks on AI. Self serve drink stations at peak times, sometimes ran out of certain choices, but that delay is understandable given it's high summer holiday season and being used a lot. We loved the snack bar too. We enjoyed the entertainment. My highlight was Mexican night at the restaurant, my son's highlight (age 8) was the pizza and burgers, my husband's highlight was the darts/archery/water/boules basket games. This was our second visit. We are thankful and grateful to all the staff for making our holiday so special.
The hotel itself was lovely and clean. Staff were very helpful. The food was extremely good. The day entertainment staff were amazing. The only thing that let this hotel down was the evening entertainment. Most nights It was very tacky and basically rubbish. The only god night was Saturday the 8th. Our last night Sunday 9th August was the worst act of our 2 weeks holiday at this hotel. The lady singer was extremely rude and very unkind. If I knew the entertainment manager my complaint about the female singer would go straight to him/her and not on here. However, the hotel management has to have some accountability even though the entertainment is separate to the hotel, he/she need to highlight these issues to the entertainment management in order that customer feedback is recognised and dealt with and that they have less complaints regarding evening entertainment (which seems to be the biggest downful of this hotel from previous feedback). So basically the female singer (if that's what she was? She seemed to just like holding the microphone and belt out the odd lyric) asked the children to get up and dance for literally seconds. My granddaughter who has just started toddling lost her balance and put out her arm to steady herself which happened to accidentally touch the stage. The female singer proceeded to yell at my granddaughter (a baby not even 2 years of age) and made her cry along with her mother who was extremely mortified and devastated that someone could yell at a baby. Who in the hell yells at a baby?? It actually spoilt our last night and it upset us all as a family.
The band itself was ok and the guy on the organ was a good singer. I think they would be better off without the female as I noticed , she got lots of lyrics wrong and sang to early. If the female singer didn't want children near the stage, then she should not have invited them up!
Cons:
night entertainment is very poor for kids especially, and just in general!! The acts were very poor, money from hotel this big upgrade would say was not put to the entertainment side of the hotel which lets it down massively! lots of rules of what the kids which are silly such as not being able to dance on the dance floor when entertainment is on. On our last night which was 9th August the singer told my 23 month daughter off infront of the whole crowd which is disgusting and embarrassing my daughter only lost her balance as she still learning to walk following recovery from her hip operation, resulting in her putting her hand on the stage for 2 seconds, the singer was awfully rude shouted and her and me. She was also shaking her head when harmony and her little friend she made was dancing infront of the stage and many other children to which again resulted in myself and the other mum feeling very uncomfortable which is not how we should feel on our holiday we have paid a lot of money for! I was so angry at the situation that I complained to the entertainment staff who could not apologies enough and pointed me into the direction to make a complaint. Went to reception to inform them of the situation. The reception lady was not empathetic in the slightest, no apology just said just right a complaint and they will sort it was her attitude.
The kids indoor play area is very restricted if your children is below 4 years old they aren’t allow in ball pit and slide area- which I think is a silly rule especially cause toddlers love a ball pit. There were play stations with no accessories so a lot of younger children toddler age were restricted and got bored easily.
The restaurant drink machines were very hit and miss never seemed to work or there was no cups available to hand. Had 4 stations only one would work or one had cups on which is pretty silly: explained this to a reception lady who couldn’t care less and said well these things happen.
Pros:
kids pools and splash area is really good wasn’t busy at all- kids life guards where amazing at telling children rules so they were safe and got down to their level. Especially the lady life guard.
very clean hotel
food was good- repetitive but I liked everything they had to offer- could have more cereal options for children
Great location. Great atmosphere. Rooms lovely and clean , we did however encounter a problem with the air conditioning. However, we discovered if we turned it to setting 2 it worked. I think the balcony door seemed to have a gap at the top side, not sure if that stopped it from working. Great value for money. Food was outstanding, something for everyone including my fussy daughter. We had room 1012 on 10th floor was lovely and quiet. Service was brilliant, restaurant did get busy about 8pm , so we did have to wait to be seated. We didn’t mind. Something to be aware of DO NOT leave towels on sunbeds , there is a notice saying everything will be removed if left. This was witnessed by us everyday. What a great idea. It means everyone gets a chance to get a sunbed without the fight. Advice : if u want to use a ball or floaty they are not allowed in the pool. Unless it is for a child’s swimming support. The lady in the shop Delouras , she is so lovely. She is very chatty , kind and caring. Great at her job. If you want to go to Puerto de Mogan market go early!. We got there for 9 it was already busy. We left between 12/1 pm and the traffic was backed up onto motorway to get to it. Also there is no direct bus due to road collapsing. We took a taxi. The bus would be one to Puerto Rico then another bus from Puerto Rico back to Taurito.
