El Guarapo Apartments is an independent and small scale complex of apartaments, providing for the Guests unique 5* experience of Lanzarote. Complex (40 units) is located in the beautiful and tranquil neighbourhood of Costa Teguise. It is a five-minute walk to the main area of Pueblo Marinero (where you will find the atmospheric restaurants, bars and local produce sellers on Tuesdays), or a ten minute walk will take you to Jabillo beach that is popular with locals.
El Guarapo Apartments was founded in 1987, when renowned local architect Luis Díaz Feria was comissioned to design a small scale and intimate complex combining traditional island architecture and the latest modern practices. Recently renovated, El Guarapo Apartments are set around a swimming pool, and together with the tranquil gardens, it makes the ideal base from which to experience the unique volcanic island of Lanzarote.
This was our fourth visit to El Guarapo and there is a reason why we keep coming back, the apartments are just perfect in every way. They are about 15 minutes from the busier parts of Costa Teguise which is ideal. There are numerous restaurants and bars within 5-10 minutes walk. The apartments are always clean and spot less, all of the team/staff are so friendly and are always smiling and they make us feel like we have come home each time. El Guarapo apartments are perfect for a nice relaxing holiday, there is a restaurant onsite which is open for breakfast and lunch’s everyday, serving food and drinks, but it does close at 16:30 each day which makes staying here so much nicer. Thanks again for another amazing stay and we look forward to returning again soon.
Our friends were there in July we booked for August there reviews were all positive about this hotel they loved every minute of it
Great communication via WhatsApp up until my quite late arrival ( 10:30pm) and I found the apartment easily enough with very good directions. After a long journey & all the supermarkets closed, it would’ve been nice to have a bottle of water in the fridge (just an idea for management!) lovely large apartment, 2 single beds together which made a big bed. Bathroom was lovely. A little problem with the drains not clearing fast enough however that’s just a minor point. Cleaners come every other day and there’s 4 bins for recycling, Unfortunately I had a couple of nights where the people above my apartment were really loud, talking & moving furniture which wasn’t great but not the owners fault. No aircon but a very big fan which was adequate. No sunbed wars! Pool was chilly but needed as it was very hot! Lovely place, very close to everything but out of the way enough to be nice & chilled. Would definitely recommend and stay here again.
Fabulous place. Perfect spot, helpful staff, excellent room, great pool, lovely garden, everything we needed in the accommodation, no fighting over sun beds, lovely and quiet, easy walk to beach and town, chilled atmosphere, clean. No negatives at all!
We stayed at El Guarapo last year and loved it, so booked a return trip and were allcocated the same upper floor room, which was great. The apartments are in a great location, easy to get to Playa Bastian beach and bars / restaurants, and also to Playa Jablillo and 'the Square'. Our weather wasn't great on arrival but we enjoyed walks in the area.
The staff are pleasant and helpful and communication by Whatsapp before our stay was great. We normally did breakfast in our apartment but ate at the pool restaurant one day and the food was excellent. It was spoiled a little by some noisy children running around and leaving stuff everywhere, but not the fault of the restaurant. Apart from some noise from the same children a few nights, the complex is relaxed and peaceful, no music by the pool, which suited us, and no bar other than the restaurant at lunchtime. There was no building noise, that we had been warned about.
On our last day, the pool area was closed at lunchtime for refurbishment (earlier than the 1pm we had been told). The showers and lockers are excellent for late check outs, but it would have been nice if somewhere had been designated for us to sit to wait for our transfer pick up.
There were a few areas that would have improved our stay. Some mornings, every sunbed had a towel on it for a lengthy time with no people using them and no action taken. Not a big issue for us as we normally go to the beach, but it would be nice to have the option.
Some evenings after reception had closed, groups of Spanish people came into the complex and used the pool and played ball games which prevented us from swimming in the pool. Perhaps the security code needs to be changed more often.
And last but not least, our apartment was not very clean. On arrival, I had to clean the bathroom sink and toilet, even the seat was unclean, and the freezer compartment of the fridge was so iced up that the door wouldn't close. We couldn't see how to unplug it or a defrost button so had to scrape a lot of ice out before it could be used. During our stay the cleaning wasn't done to a very high standard either, I think more attention needs to be given to this aspect.
In the hope the standard of cleanliness is improved, we would stay in these apartments again as there are a lot of really good points, including a great hairdryer in the bathroom!
