Radisson Blu Resort Lanzarote

We arrived late on Thursday evening, having got a taxi from the airport managing to beat the bus. We were greeted by a smile and a glass of cava, salut! And that familiar ‘clean smell’ of the reception area. We were allocated our room and were able to get in straight away. The room as usual was spotless. From breakfast the following day to lunch on our final day the food was first rate. Breakfast had cereal, porridge, breads, cold meats and cheese, eggs, fried, poached or omelette all cooked to order along with bacon, beans hash browns and other salad items, complimented by cava for those that wanted it. Dinner had various themed nights with meat and fish cooked to order along with lots of other options both hot and cold, lots of salad options and desserts including ice cream. There were gluten free options at both meals. We had lunch on our final day, again a good range of options all cooked to order. I have mentioned before about the lack of a dress code at dinner, whilst most people ‘make the effort’ there are a few that are dressed more for the beach than the restaurant, sadly this makes the restaurant more like a canteen. I realise that everyone is on holiday, but it does lower the tone. Housekeeping came along everyday, sometimes whilst we were at breakfast, that was a nice touch, Gracias! The hotel was busy which was good to see, but there was still plenty of sun beds available, yes there were a few that ‘grabbed’ their favourite spot early, sometimes not coming back for hours, but there was still enough to go around. The pool area was spotless, apart from the odd bit of litter left by thoughtless guests. We had an issue with our shower on day one, this was reported and dealt with whilst we were at dinner. The hotel now has an app where you can report any issue, ask for extra pillows, towel or bedding change. The bar has a good range of drinks, not the cheapest, but certainly in line with other hotels of a similar standard. There is a water dispenser in the bar area dispensing cold, ambient or hot water, a great touch, just refill your bottles and save on buying bottled water from local supermarkets. I have left the best to last, the staff, truly the gems of this hotel, housekeeping, reception, restaurant, bar and pool staff were all delightful, we were recognised as returning guests and treated like we had returned home. We kept our room till 4PM on the afternoon of our check-out this cost €20 per hr, there is also a courtesy room available too, just ask at reception.

A M A Z I N G . No a lot more to say. I’ve said it many many times. No better hotel in Europe in my opinion.
