This family-friendly apartment complex lies in the tourist district of Puerto del Carmen just 300 metres from Playa Matagorda. The resort centre is 3 km away, where guests will discover many shopping and entertainment venues. Links to the public transport network are to be found directly in front of the complex. This fabulous complex has many facilities, including a reception desk, a supermarket, a snack bar and an air-conditioned restaurant. The tastefully decorated, modern apartments each come with an en suite bathroom with a shower and modern amenities. They also come with a kitchenette, making it ideal for those who enjoy cooking their meals. In the well-kept outdoor complex guests will find a swimming pool and a poolside snack bar as well as sun loungers and parasols laid out ready for use. Guests may relax in the sauna or play a round of tennis.

4.5 to 5 – Excellent hotel, lovely staff and a great family stay…
We had a really enjoyable stay at the ILUNION Costa Sol and would definitely recommend it. The staff were excellent throughout: friendly, attentive and always happy to help. Special mentions for Rosa, Daniel and Greg, who were fantastic and really added to our experience.
The grounds and pool area are exceptionally well maintained - those guys work very hard to keep things an high standard and deserve particular praise. We also loved the hotel’s policy on sunbeds. Staff actively prevent the 5am “space invaders” from reserving beds and disappearing for hours, with sunbeds effectively kept fair until 9am ehen cleaning is done. It works brilliantly and is very welcome! It makes mornings around the pool much more relaxed and means there’s no need to join the ridiculous dawn towel race with FOMO
We stayed half board. Breakfast was excellent, with loads of choice and plenty of variety. The evening food was fine, but this was probably the one area that might make me hesitant to award a full 5/5. Some dishes weren’t always piping hot and the choice could feel a little repetitive, even with the different themed evenings. Nonetheless, we always found something to eat, and it certainly wasn’t a major issue. Quality of food was good - beef, chicken, salmon, meats and cheeses, good breads, fruit selection, pasta and sauces and a good dessert stand too.
The rooms were spacious, well equipped and cleaned every day. We travelled with our two girls and had two apartments close together, which worked perfectly for us. I can recommend the location of rooms 109-121 - all nice apartments right by the large pool area.
The hotel’s location is excellent too. There are shops within easy walking distance and a quiet local beach nearby. It is also surprisingly close to the airport, only around 10–15 minutes by shuttle, but despite that we found it remarkably quiet. Its within walking distance of watching the arriving and departing aircraft too.
Animacion staff keep smaller ones entertained, but unlike other places I’ve stayed, they are unobtrusive.
During our stay the guests were predominantly British, particularly English and Irish, but with a good number of Spanish guests too. The overall atmosphere was friendly and relaxed - i think that the hotel lacks an all-inclusive tariff is a huge positive in that regard.
All in all, a very strong 4.5/5. Great staff, immaculate grounds and pool area, spacious accommodation and a really convenient location. Improve the variety and temperature of the evening food and this would be an easy 5/5 for us.

Beautiful hotel and friendly staff
We recently returned from ten days at this beautiful resort and would definitely book again. Everyone who works here is so friendly and helpful, particularly the lifeguards. It is spotless, the cleaners do an amazing job as our room and the whole resort are impeccably clean. Thankyou so much for such a great stay.

Reception staff Jovita & Patricia amazing on arrival. Apartment S4 (studio) was lovely, modern and clean. Swipe card was not working as the lock was broken but provided with the key instead which was perfect. Complex was extremely well kept and clean staff so welcoming and friendly. The bins outside our block were not emptied and was overflowing for 5 days and people were also just placing their own black bags there which was encouraging cockroaches on the corridor. One negative was the cleaners only came at 4:30 every day which was late saying we had been out the room since 8:00 and wanted to relax then they just found it very amusing and laughed at us therefore we had no bedding changed or cleaning and had to request our towels be changed. The main downside was the sun beds around the pool it was a battle every morning pool opened anytime between 9-9:30 and same again people reserving sun beds and not on them till late afternoon. With the lifeguards constantly in their phones apart from the lady on the bottom pool who was extremely efficient. Otherwise was a lovely holiday and enough going on locally and bus stop straight outside the hotel.

I have just got back from a weeks self catering holiday here. I cannot fault the one bed superior apartment we had, it was perfect for the three of us. Clean and spacious, a kitchen with all we needed and a beautiful balcony to sit out on. Perfect location, a short walk from bars and restaurants along Matagorda's seafront, and you can catch a bus right outside into Puerto Del Carmen or Playa Blanca. My only slight negative from the holiday was that staff allowed sunbeds to be 'reserved' by guests with a towel, even if they barely used them all day. I saw lots of guests walking away from the pool area as all beds were taken, yet hardly anyone were on them! This needs to be managed by staff.

Wont be coming back here again. Prefer hotels that dont rob you
Never been to a hotel in my life that has a heated pool but turns it off to save money. The pool is freezing 🥶 surely they keep the heating on with the hundreds of thousands they make every year
