- H10 Timanfaya Palace

This hotel is located in the fishing village of Playa Blanca, in the south of Lanzarote. The hotel is set on the seafront, boasting close proximity to a number of attractions in the area. The hotel is situated just a short distance away from the Flamingo beach and lies a 15 minutes' driving distance from the beach of Papagayo. The town centre is close by, where guests can explore a host of shopping, dining and entertainment venues. This hotel enjoys a charming design, beautifully blending Spanish and Arabic influences. The guest rooms are superbly designed, offering a peaceful setting in which to unwind. Guests are invited to enjoy the facilities and services that the hotel has to offer.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
Recently got back from Timanfaya Palace after 10 nights away, and this was our second stay at Timanfaya. This is the only hotel that we have returned to as usually we like to try different hotels. However, we loved our first stay here and so we had to come back for another stay.
The hotel is amazing and the facilities and pool area are fantastic. I am in my early 30s and my partner is in her late 20s, and we loved how relaxing and chilled this is. We are both teachers so it is a lovely relaxing holiday for us.
We thought the food was excellent and there are themed food nights every night. We particularly loved the Mexican, Chinese and Italian cuisine. For the Italian cuisine, the chefs created a fresh pasta dish in front of you based on the ingredients you chose. We loved this and thought it was a great touch.
However, our biggest shout out goes to the staff. We purposely chose to sit in Sandra’s area every morning as she looked after us so well. After the first morning, Sandra remembered our coffee order and would bring this to us without asking. She also filled our water bottles without even asking. She is a credit to the hotel. We were sad that we could not say goodbye on our final day as Sandra was having a well deserved day off!
Noemi in the Piano bar was also excellent and would pick a drink for us if we couldn’t decide. Erika in the restaurant was also really friendly and always served us with a smile. The cleaning staff always said hello and were very polite. Staff and moments like this really make a holiday. You can tell that the management team are also really proud of this hotel.
We can’t wait to return here, especially as we made some great friends on this holiday, so hopefully we will all return here at a similar time again.
Thank you Timanfaya for a great holiday yet again. Jose - if you could pass this feedback onto Sandra, Noemi and Erika that would be really appreciated.
Location fantastic, hotel really nice , all staff were great and very friendly. Atmosphere was very chilled , our room was nice, although there are other nicer rooms in hotel . Food was really good . For such a big hotel , the pool areas were so quiet and never overcrowded. Would absolutely go back .
H10 Timanfaya Palace is an excellent adults only resort for those looking for a fun yet relaxing holiday.
The facility itself is stunning, tiered across 6 levels (0-5) there truly is something for everyone! There is a calm and relaxing atmosphere during the day, broken occasionally by the excellent 'Animation Team' who host various events throughout the day to keep everyone entertained! There are plenty of sunbeds and finding one in a decent location is not an issue at all! The views across the sea looking out towards Fuertaventura are stunning, and the sunsets on the evening truly make this a magical place to stay! The resort cleverly uses an electronic wristband as your room key and also to track your bill for food and drinks. The hotel is incredibly accessibility friendly with lifts and step free access while to each floor and a lift or ramp into each of the pools.
The hotel is located only a short 2 minute walk away along the sea front from Flamingo Beach which is ideal for beach lovers, and a ~45 minute walk away from Marina Rubicon and its shopping centre. During the walk there you pass multiple shops along the sea front if you are looking for something a little closer.
Our room on Floor 0 was excellent, it was large, with aircon, a fridge (free to use), a safe, kettle, kingsize bed, table, sofa, walk in bathroom, a large TV, patio and chairs looking up onto the resort. As we were on Floor 0 and below the standard level of the resort the view from the patio area was limited and the room could be seen into by passers by, however this is easily avoided by using the curtains. The room was very cleanly and well styled. There is free WiFi across the entire resort which was both fast and reliable! Rooms are cleaned on request and there is an excellent focus on sustainability and the environment which doesn't overbear or take away from the experience! The room also came with a very handy toothbrush kit, shaving kit, comb, tissues and more as standard!
The staff couldn't have been more attentive, positive and a good laugh had they tried! Some stand out members of staff include Hose in the Poolside Bar, Kumar in the Restaurant and the entire Animation Team! Even the cleaners and maintenance staff made an effort to say hello when you passed. Nothing was ever too much to ask, service was incredibly quick and always with a smile! They were all a pleasure to speak to and laugh with!
The food and drink were also excellent. All alcohol and soft drinks were branded (coca cola, Fanta, grey goose, Jack Daniel's, etc) as standard which is a welcome sight! The drinks were all made very well. The food was also excellent with a wide range to choose from for every meal! Breakfast does have the option of freshly made omelettes, a full English buffet, continental or just fruits, amongst other options. Lunch had a mixture of buffet bits, some hot, some cold, and the pool bar also offers some lighter bites like toasties and wraps. Dinners in the evening were themed and had excellent varieties but also kept some of the basics for those who wanted to stick to what they know (pizza, chips, rice, etc). The Kasbah restaurant serves high quality fine dining food and you get 1 visit per 7 nights if visiting 'All inclusive', or unlimited visits for 'Privilege' visitors.
The entertainment put on by the Animation Team was great fun and entirely optional, they were fun, professional and didn't ever burden or force anyone to get involved which is the right way to do things, they made people want to be involved just by how they hosted things and conducted themselves! Entertainment ranged from cocktail making, aquafit and archery in the day, to live band performances, elvis impersonators, bingo, blackjack and quizzes in the evening. Something for everyone! There is also a live music/piano bar for those wanting a more relaxed evening.
There are three pool's, a smaller round paddling style pool which is very shallow but ideal for sunbathing or a quick splash. A main pool which is deeper and better for a swim and ball games and even features a waterfall. Finally there is an indoor pool which is smaller and quiet. It's out of the way at the top of the resort and ideal for people wanting some peace and quiet. With that being said the entire resort was relaxed and quiet, and at no point was rowdy. The only time it was ever 'Loud' was 'White Night' which is once a week and a party with live music hosted outside, but even then most people were present and taking part!
The hotel even offered a courtesy room for 30 Mins on the day of departure for those leaving after their check out time, to shower and change before getting on the plane.
Overall my partner and I had an excellent time, which was truly made extra special by the staff, so a huge thank you to them! We will be returning to H10 Timanfaya Palace potentially as early as October this year!
If I had any feedback it would be the following:
Thank you to the entire H10 Timanfaya Palace team for making our Holiday so special! We can't wait to visit again!
For returning privilege guests, consistency is key. Having visited for many years, it’s always been there. The excellent staff, comfortable rooms, great dining, and enjoyable entertainment all play a big part. We also meet many friends who share the same feelings. Of course, occasional issues come up, but they’re quickly resolved when addressed respectfully. I often think that some of the less favorable reviews might have been avoided with a more respectful approach during the stay. From my experience and that of returning guests, no problem is too big to be solved through polite and considerate conversation. The hotel welcomes guests from many nationalities and caters to all age groups. It offers a relaxing atmosphere with plenty of amenities, including gardens, sunbathing areas, and nearby walking paths. The Kasbah, La Bocaina and La Geria restaurants offer a variety of food which considering the nationalities, has something for everyone. Evening entertainment includes the option of unwinding with relaxing music in the foyer bar or enjoying a nightly lineup of live performances in the theatre. The bedrooms are kept in excellent condition by the attentive housekeeping staff. We’re excited for our second visit this year, in September, and look forward to meeting many more happy returning guests.
This was our third visit to this hotel. Last visit was 3 years ago. Arrived on July 19th around lunchtime. Room not ready which we expected so headed down to the pool bar. We found the hotel had run down nowhere near as many staff and staff that were on shift started at 10am but earlier if in buffet area, working until midnight. Staff are lovely there but are run ragged. Plenty of sun beds to choose from but don’t reserve a bed with your towel as pool guy walks around between 9 and half 9 and removes towels left on sun beds. Spirits are branded which is great. I fell ill with sickness and diarrhoea on the 4th day there. We have been to many many H10 hotels and really loved our stay. But unfortunately this year at the timanfaya palace just be mindful of what you are eating. Yes plenty of of choice in buffet , which was pretty much never hot. Kasbah restaurant is amazing can book one visit per week of your stay. This was the only time I actually had a hot meal which was absolutely stunning.
