What a gorgeous and relaxing week in Lanzarote staying at MYND. I came away with my mum and we had such a lovely time and the flexibility of the half board credit is a great concept. F&B offering was good although lunch options were pretty poor and served in cardboard takeaway boxes or a vending machine. But the hotel was beautiful and kept spotless with great rooms, although the slightly unusual open plan set-up and walk-through balconies were a little odd. That said, it wasn’t too much of an issue for us.

There were also lots of beautiful areas around the pool to relax and chill out. Despite everyone seeming to reserve their sunbeds first thing in the morning, we had almost no issues getting a bed, so don’t let that put you off!

We especially enjoyed chatting to the lovely ladies from the animation team, Laura and Stine, who were so friendly and welcoming and really added to our stay.

Overall, we had a fantastic trip and would definitely recommend MYND. My only suggestions would be to have a few more staff working at the bar to reduce sometimes very long queues, someone available to help take loungers down from the pile at the pool and more shaded areas or umbrellas around the bar area, particularly when it gets so hot.

Overall, a lovely relaxing stay and a great place for a week away.

We had a really enjoyable week overall and there were definitely more positives than negatives. Location-wise, the hotel was great. It was around a 10-minute walk to the main beach, with plenty of shops, bars and restaurants nearby. We ate out several evenings and loved having so much choice within walking distance. We also used the local bus one day to travel a little further out, which was easy enough.

The atmosphere was one of our favourite things about the hotel because you could choose between the family and relax areas. The family area was much livelier, with music, several pools, slides and facilities for children, whereas the relax area was much quieter and perfect for sunbathing. We spent most of our time there and you could barely hear the noise from the family area, despite it being easily accessible if you wanted a change of scenery.

Our room was spacious, comfortable and had plenty of storage. We were also able to sign into our Netflix account on the TV, which was a nice bonus in the evenings. The only thing we weren’t particularly keen on was the lack of privacy around the bathroom and toilet area, as the doors are quite see-through. It was fine for us as a couple, but something to be aware of depending on who you are travelling with.

In terms of cleanliness, we couldn’t really fault the hotel. The grounds, communal areas and pools were kept very clean, and we liked the cleaning scheme where you could choose to skip certain room cleans in exchange for complimentary drink vouchers. We thought this was a good idea and our room was always cleaned well when we did have the service.

The noise level really depended on which area you chose, which we actually appreciated. The family area was naturally much louder and livelier, whereas the relax area was peaceful. We didn’t have any issues with excessive noise from our room either.

The service throughout our stay was generally good and we didn’t have any major problems with staff. We also appreciated being able to book a refreshment room on our final day so we could shower and get ready before our evening flight, although we were disappointed that this cost €20 in cash for a 30-minute slot.

There were plenty of amenities, including several pools across the family and relax areas, bars, a pool bar, ice creams, children’s facilities and the refreshment room. There really is plenty within the resort, particularly for families, although as a couple we still enjoyed having the quieter side of the hotel available.

The main area that affected value for money for us was the hotel credit system. We chose the credit option rather than all-inclusive and received around €420 to use during our stay. We ate out most evenings as my partner is a picky eater and the hotel food options were quite limited for him, but we regularly used our credit for drinks throughout the day. Despite this, we still had over €200 remaining on our final day.

Unfortunately, as soon as we checked out at 12pm, our remaining credit was stopped completely, even though our airport transfer wasn’t until around 5pm. We therefore spent another five hours at the hotel having to pay separately for drinks while still having a significant unused balance. We found this particularly frustrating, and it seemed a shame that guests couldn’t continue using credit they had already been allocated until they actually left the resort. We were later given the option to donate unused credit to charity, which is a lovely idea, but we would have appreciated being able to use some of it during those final five hours first.

We did experience two power cuts during the week, including one evening where the hotel was without power for around 30 minutes, although we appreciate this may have been completely outside the hotel’s control.

Overall, we had a lovely holiday and really enjoyed the hotel, particularly the location, cleanliness, spacious rooms and the choice between the family and relax areas. There is plenty on offer and we would certainly consider returning. The main thing we would like to see improved is the credit system, particularly on departure day, as allowing guests to use their remaining balance until they actually leave the hotel would make the experience much better.
