Princesa Yaiza Suite Hotel Resort

We had a lovely stay on the whole. I don't normally write reviews but wanted you to have an honest review of the hotel. We have been visiting Playa Blanca for 20 years and have tried various hotels, villas etc. This was our first time at the "Princess Yaiza". The hotel like many is a little dated like many on the island. However what the older hotels lack in this area they make up for in the loyalty of the staff. The cleanliness was excellent, the cleaners actually used bleach. We stayed on a bed and breakfast rate and the buffet breakfast was very good although very busy at times. The hotel does have in house restaurants which are at an additional charge. This is where the hotel is let down. Although the service was excellent the food was of a very poor standard. It looked very pretty when it arrived but had no flavour, lacked seasoning and somehow the chef (at the Lobos restaurant) was able to make Lamb look and taste like chicken.We sent both our meals back but returned was no better. We complained to the waiter who was lovely, he offered us a free drink but by that point we wanted to leave. This was a real shame because we thought going to this restaurant would be a real treat due to its location over looking the sea. The Italian restaurant was similar, The Bruschetta was like rock and sadly the fish and pizza again lacked flavour. For the money they charge approx £100 each time for 2 people, let the hotel down.

We will return to Playa Blanca as we love the area however, we will have to see whether we choose the Yaiza next year. We gave the hotel 4 out of 5 as we think this is accurate. Would have been 5 if it wasn't for the restaurants.

Great location, lovely staff great atmosphere and quality food. Will definitely be returning next year. Thank you to all at the hotel for making our stay lovely.
