La Morana Apartamentos

Stayed here with family, we occupied 4 rooms in different locations, we had pool/sea view which was lovely, that was the only positive to our stay. All rooms are different, some have been updated, which my family stayed in. Their rooms were further down the hill, nearer to the strip, so they had noise from the bars until late. I don’t mind about an updated room as long as it’s clean. Bedroom very small but rest of the apartment was spacious with big balcony. The bathroom was horrific, black mould in shower tray and down the tiles. Also Cladosporium mould which is the brown/green mould all on the bathroom tiles. We both suffer with allergies and this triggered an episode whilst there, we tried to keep our time in the bathroom to a minimum. We fed back but no one came to clean it. No air con and when we asked for it, reception said, NOT POSSIBLE, couldn’t get to understand why. Maybe no air con units left? It was 40 degrees and the room was like torture because it faced the sun all day. My poor mother of 76 has never suffered so much in her life. We had 1 fan that did nothing. Some rooms have built in air con, others you pay £6-£8 per day (not sure if staff on the fiddle but some people we spoke to payed more than others?) they bring a portable unit with a big pipe you stick out of the window and can only use in 1 room, you’d have to it yourself to other rooms, hideous. Steps all around apartments, from reception to rooms and snack bar, which shuts at 7am; so no where to meet up and have a drink before you tackle cardiac hill. Very steep hill down to strip, which then has all the refuse bins at bottom, the stench was horrible and made you retch. Half way through stay a large party of men arrived which caused noise issues at night, again spoke to reception but there wasn’t any security there, to deal with this issue as it happened; we just had to put up with it. Drugs were being smoked in the nearby rooms/balconies too, the smell made having our breakfast on the balcony, unpleasant; so we had to sit inside. Again fed this back but nothing they could do. The pool is dirty with black mould around sides, they do clean this area in the mornings, they use a broom with water to clean the edge of pool, then brush the dirty water back into the pool. Saw a man one morning with a bucket and brush cleaning the side walls of pool which was still full of water and people in it, so the dirt was just going back into the pool. Surely you’d empty the pool now and then and clean it properly and safely, I avoided getting in the pool from day 1 as I could see it was dirty. Such a shame as this was my first holiday for 6 years and I could not wait to get home.

Value for money and clean also great location for just a short walk from the beach and main strip.
