Leonardo Royal Hotel Mallorca

We have just returned from this hotel and I will share the positives first. The beds are comfy including the pillows, all the staff are lovely and my partner said the beer on the all inclusive was the nicest san Miguel he had ever had and was like out of a bar. The hotel is in a lovely spot and well situated. Also there is a laundry room with a washer and dryer which are €4 to use.

However there are some negatives… This is not a 4 star hotel, I paid extra for a deluxe room but it was an average room and you pay extra for the view. It sounds petty but the towels in the room are of a really poor quality and it’s not the biggest deal but all the little issues all add up. Our room also smelled terribly of drains. We stayed all inclusive and as a vegetarian I really struggled with the food, it was very repetitive and it wasn’t clearly labelled, I ate bolognaise sauce one night that contained meat. There was also a vegetable soup on a Chinese themed night which I ate but had chicken. The bar of a day is 90% busy with sometimes only 1 person serving. Everything is service only including water and soft drinks so this adds to the queue where as a lot of places have these on self service. However the snack bar is lovely and they only make the good when you order so it’s nice and fresh. As other reviews have pointed out the cocktails are of a poor quality. Finally there are not enough sun beds for the pool which the hotel should address and acknowledge on these reviews. You have to get a sun bed at 09:00am or you won’t get one, goodness knows what it’s like in the summer holidays. We had to go the beach twice as we couldn’t get a bed which isn’t good as we were all inclusive. My partner really enjoyed it but not me, I wouldn’t return,

We stayed at the Leonardo hotel for 3 nights and was a little sceptical after the recent reviews however we had no reason to be! The staff at the hotel especially in the buffet restaurant, including Santiago were so polite and helpful and a pleasure to see at breakfast, lunch and evenings. The pool and views are stunning, I would especially recommend getting up early to see the sunrise across the sea. The food was nice (not amazing but perfectly enjoyable) and the drinks were nice too. Especially the pina colada and the slushes around the pool. We had a lovely time and wouldn’t hesitate to come back. Thank you so much to the entertainment team too who weren’t over the top and helped the days and evenings fun with water sports in the day, bingo and karaoke etc in the evening! Couldn’t fault it.
