I URGE YOU TO READ ALL!!! I dont know where to begin… i took my wife here on our honeymoon and i made sure to let the hotel know it was our honeymoon in advance. When we arrived at the hotel we wanted to see our options of different rooms available. Before we could see the rooms, the staff worker was insisting i pay first. As soon as we walked into the first room we had booked, we felt that this was nothing close to 5 stars. The bed had stains and the shower was filthy. They gave us a option to upgrade for an extra €850. With no other choice, i had to pay extra to stay in a room which we were told is their “best.” After checking in, a shower is what we needed after a long travel. The shower was so filthy that i had to wear flip flops to get in. Forced to just sleep it over, we tried to sleep and the bed was covered in stains. That night around 11pm, i told the front desk and they said they cant do anything about it now, i have to come back in the morning. We had a bad night trying to sleep because there was an awful wet/mold smell coming from the bathroom. We decided we cannot stay in such place. Kindly we notified the front desk again. Our travel agency said they have been in contact with “Mari” about the situation. I told the front desk we have been in email contact with “Mari” and the staff worker said there is no one here by that name, he is not aware. Unable to help us, i asked for the manager. The staff worker went to the back office for 5 mins and guess who decided to walk out. “MARI Pau Sevilla.” We kindly sat down and told Mari our issues with the hotel, how it does not feel like a 5 star hotel, the ad said adults only but there is children, only the top 2 floors are adults only, the room smell and cleanliness. Mari Pau responded by saying she was not aware that it was our honeymoon and if she knew she would have decorated our room with rose pedals. She offered us to change rooms, but we had already seen two different rooms with the same issue. Then she offered a free 30 min massage. I do not want a massage or rose pedals. I want a nice, clean, good smelling room, with working AC. (Our AC did not work). I kindly asked to refund me for the remaining days im not staying here because its not possible with that mold smell. I would still pay for the 1 night i stayed. She refused and said she cannot. It is against their policy to refund. She had no care for the client. Shook her head and said “i cant do anything”
I hope this message reaches corporate so they can see how they will be missing out on future business because i am a frequent traveler and will never stay at another Iberostar anywhere in the world again.
The location is excellent, the hotel is clean, and the service is good. However, both breakfast and dinner are fairly basic. In my opinion, this does not meet the standards of a 5-star hotel and is more comparable to a 3.5 to 4-star property.
The swimming pool is well maintained, but access to the beach requires an additional fee of $20 to $40 for a sunbed and umbrella. The hotel does, however, provide beach towels.
Overall, it is a solid option for middle class families seeking a comfortable stay at a reasonable price.
Our stay was average at best. This property markets itself as a 5-star resort, but in our experience it felt more like a 3.5 to 4-star hotel. The issues started shortly after check-in. We arrived mid-afternoon and were advised that lunch service was available until 4:30 PM. However, once seated, there was little to no service. No one attended our table, and we had to get up twice to ask for assistance. Even then, the server seemed to be checking whether they could serve us rather than proactively helping. Throughout the meal, no one checked on us or asked if we needed anything. It was the little things that continued to add up during our stay. For example, beach towels are not available until 10:00 AM, despite the pool opening earlier. Most families are already out enjoying the pool/beach by then, so be sure to pick up towels the day before if you plan on starting your day early. The main dining room was also uncomfortably warm toward the back of the restaurant. It felt as though there was little or no air conditioning in that area, so I would recommend requesting a table closer to the front if possible. On a positive note, the pool area was very nice, and the rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable. However, the overall service and attention to detail were not what we would expect from a 5-star property. The experience felt off from the start and never quite recovered. While the resort has some good qualities, it did not deliver the level of service or luxury that its 5-star branding suggests, at ALL.
A comfortable bed, a clean room, and friendly staff—except for the restaurant, which still has some room for improvement—but I'd still come back regardless.
