HOVIMA Santa Maria

We was in a room above the bar so When we asked to be moved they just said that is your room 10 days with no sleep at night I’m 65 years old with a disability and 10 days here absolutely ruined it because of our position above the bar

We came here at Easter for a week and decided we liked the hotel to go back in July. Firstly the location is where we like to be as we come to Tenerife a lot we know where we like to go. The hotel is very clean the pool gets a deep clean twice a week which is good to know. We went all inclusive and the food was great for us yes been to other hotels where you get more but you pay more. Staff are lovely and approachable if you need anything. My youngest love claire at mini club and asked to keep going. We will definitely be back.

We have just returned from our holiday at Hovima Santa Maria. We chose this hotel because we had already stayed at another Hovima hotel and naively thought we would not be disappointed. The first shock came when we were given our room. We have never stayed in such a terribly dirty and outdated hotel. The fridge shelves were sticky with dirt, one had hair on it, as did the drawer. Everything was dirty, the fridge door had food residue on it. The cupboards were smelly, coffee had dried on the bathroom door. The shower door was completely rotten at the bottom. There was thick black mould on the tile joints. The shower door had soap scum, the mirror was rotten at the top and bottom and the surface was dirty. Of course, we immediately informed the reception, who very kindly offered us another room, which we did not accept because there was no air conditioning and the average temperature was 30 degrees, so we asked them to clean our room. Two cleaning ladies came and wanted to solve everything with a quick mop. We showed them the problems. That we did not just ask for a mop. At this, they started speaking Spanish, expressing their displeasure. They could not have known that there was someone among us who understood a lot of what they were saying. Their attitude was simply disgusting. The restaurant was a second shocker. The lack of a large selection is not such a big problem, but the fact that the food was cold at almost every meal is a problem. We were surprised when we saw the microwave, but we quickly realized why it was there. The evening program was almost nothing, every night someone different sang. We can't rate the bar either, because all cocktails consisted of alcohol and crushed ice. The pool is also problematic, because where the depth is indicated as 170 cm, my 185 cm partner disappeared into the water, so the water depth marking is not good either, we didn't just spend 1 day at the hotel, we went to the beach or to programs. This is the first hotel where we didn't leave a tip or pull down the sheets to help because of the attitude of the cleaners, although we have always left our room at the end of our vacation to make it easier for the cleaning staff, but we didn't do it here because of their attitude. Anyway, our room was on the 3rd floor, the only beauty of it was the view of the ocean and the mountains, beautiful. So I would never set foot in this hotel again.
