Air con issues

I’m currently here at the hotel, second visit. I must say this hotel is one of the best I’ve ever visited, the experience is fantastic, the room is beautiful, pool are well kept and food and drink are great.

However, I am having issues with the air conditioning in my room. I have reported this twice now - the fan is on the highest and the temperature is the lowest yet the room is sitting at 24/25 degrees which is incredibly uncomfortable for me and my family of an evening while sleeping.

I have been to speak to guest services today who told me the air conditioning is centralized and there is nothing they can do.

I’m really disappointed and feel that this has let our experience down. It’s a 4 star hotel and the basics of air conditioning are questionable.

Great stay

To start, the hotel is beautiful. The plants and flowers are well maintained, and the breakfast had a huge selection of anything you could think of. During night, there is live entertainment which you should consider if you want an early night, but it is well suited for the time. The atmosphere is very relaxing considering it is not adults only, and the cleanliness is outstanding.

I really don't know what to tell

This hotel is not for people which like to get fun. You will get here nice very nice object with good pool and best food in the Costa Adeje, but you can't find there good atmosphere. Looks like somebody told all people that works here - don't allow them to have fun. If you want to order Cava + shot of Sambuba - be prepared to receive ask from waiter (how you want to drink a wine with Sambuca ?! oh my god!). Air conditioner in room didn't worked. Food was really perfect, but I still don't know do these food pros healed these cons from bad atmosphere

Juan Jose the guy from the entrance , the owner

I did have a reservation for this hotel but in the last minute I have changed for Plantacion and now I’m glad I’ve done it . The manager Juan Jose ,,own the hotel” and for security reasons as he called them make a big scene instead of asking nicely and explaining they have a policy about parking at the hotel which requires 15€ per day to be paid .

Not quite the 4-star experience but ok!

Not quite the 4-star experience we were expecting…but remember this is just our impression!

We booked quite late, directly with Hyatt, and have basic World of Hyatt membership. We paid the Preferred room rate, although unfortunately a sea view wasn’t available to book on the Hyatt website at the time.

We arrived late and were given room 902. I’ll save somebody else the trouble now: avoid room 902 if you value peace, fresh air or clean feet! 😬

The room itself was large enough and perfectly adequate, although a little tired and rough around the edges in places. It also had a rather musty smell and, somewhat randomly, a huge bath 🤷🏻‍♀️.

However, the floor was absolutely filthy. Within about five minutes of arriving our feet were black and it was straight into the shower. Not really the welcome you expect from a 4-star hotel, particularly when you’ve paid for a Preferred room. Oh and hot too ..air con isn’t the coolest!

The balcony…don’t be fooled by the photos on their site ….small but gets the morning sun, which should have been lovely. Unfortunately, its proximity to the car park/delivery area meant sitting out there wasn’t always quite the relaxing holiday experience we’d imagined. Tuesday brought a particularly strong fish aroma, followed on Thursday by an incredibly strong petroleum/fuel smell. The latter actually came into the room and at one point was strong enough to take your breath away. Quite concerning as well as unpleasant.

We’d requested a quiet room before arriving. I fully appreciate a request is only a request and can’t be guaranteed, but this one almost felt like they’d read it and thought “let’s give them the opposite” 🤣.

Cars, trucks, deliveries and reversing beeps from early morning meant calm and tranquil it certainly wasn’t.

Thankfully, the staff were generally very good, and this really helped our overall experience. One gentleman in particular — I think his name was Davidoff/Davidov and he wore his hair in a ponytail — was exceptional. Friendly, attentive and genuinely lovely. An absolute credit to the hotel.

Breakfast was good and we really liked the Preferred Club lounge, with drinks and snacks available throughout the day.

The Preferred area itself is attractive, peaceful and much more relaxing… or at least it would have been without the building work taking place at the neighbouring hotel during our stay. Seriously, you couldn’t make it up! 😂

Something I hadn’t appreciated before booking is just how far the main pool is from the Preferred Club area. To get there you leave your lovely peaceful area, negotiate numerous stone steps and eventually emerge at the very busy main pool.

And busy is an understatement.

In August it was full-on SUNBED WARS. If you’re imagining gently wandering down after breakfast and choosing a nice lounger by the pool, I admire your optimism. 😂

The children’s pool is also tiny and, bizarrely, appeared to have become something of a habitat for the would-be influencers, who liked to lie around in it with drinks while taking photographs of themselves. To their credit, the hotel staff were on the ball and regularly moved adults out when necessary.

The pics show a meandering lighter coloured ‘pool’ above the main pool which looks a bit like a lazy river …it’s for show only!

I suspect the whole pool experience would be considerably nicer outside the peak summer season.

The pool bar was good, the food was decent and we thought the prices were actually very reasonable. Nothing really interesting about the night bar in the hotel you have to seek entertainment elsewhere.

Location-wise, we’d definitely recommend turning left when you exit the rear of the hotel onto the seafront and heading towards the Golden Mile. We found that direction much nicer.

Turn the other way, past the port towards Fañabé, and let’s just say… the vibe changes. 😬🙆🏻‍♀️..great if you like madness 🥳🥳..my son was laughing at the double mobility scooters weaving in and out of the crowds ..but he’s an inbetweener 😜

Overall, there are some genuinely good things about this hotel. The staff and service were good, breakfast was good and the Preferred breakfast/lounge/area definitely improved our stay.

But I can only review the room we actually paid for and stayed in, and room 902 simply wasn’t 4-star accommodation in our opinion. I’d describe the room itself as a good 3-star/3-star-plus standard, sitting within a hotel that offers some much better facilities and service.
