Regency Torviscas Apartments Suites

We stayed here for 7 nights as 2 couples in different apartments. Overall, you get your moneys worth for a cheap holiday.

Hotel: The hotel is clean and plenty of sunbeds around the pool. The pool is good sized and was never too busy. inflatables were alllowed however balls were not. The pool did get a little dirty by the end of the day with flies and leaves but not to an extent of not been able to enter it. There is a free pool table and darts, ping pong, chess and a pool bar. The apartment itself is spacious and well equipped. Full sized fridge freezer and large balcony’s. The rooms have a ceiling fan and we also had a large plug in fan. This other fan however was only in our room and not in anybody else’s that we spoke to! The rooms got cleaned well with fresh towels daily. The entertainment guy Carlo is very friendly and put on activity’s throughout the day for adults and children. There was also free bingo on a night and music and shows in the small bar area. There is a shop on site along with a bakery which were both great. Happy hour everyday for a range of beer and spirits, €2 a beer. Location: The hotel is located at the top of the hill, 15-20 minute walk to the beach front where there are plenty of restaurants and shops along the way. There is a supermarket 3 minute walk away open till 10pm at night. The walk can be hard back up so we definitely recommend a taxi. €5 to the hotel from the beach. Staff: The staff were friendly especially carlo who interacted with every family. Cleaners were very nice and friendly throughout the time. The only issue we had was certain bar staff being a bit rude which was the only downside.

15-20 minutes away from the airport, 5 minutes away from siam park! Siam park is very worth the money especially buying fast track when you get there! €30 to go on all the rides and skip the ques. Plenty of activities to do near by. Beer is very cheap €2 a pint.

Pros Some of the reception staff are exceptionally helpful and pleasant but not all. It has a pool bar for snacks and drinks Entertainment available during the day and evenings Rooms spacious and recently redecorated. Fully stocked Small supermarket & bakery. Nice views Grounds of resort are well maintained with some beautiful plants.

Cons Less helpful and less friendly reception staff Gift you with a voucher for a free bottle of wine if you eat at the restaurant. The wine was absolutely not drinkable and one dinner was lukewarm and the other just passable. Explains why it’s usually empty.
The hot tub looked disgusting. It was off one day then back on another then emptied, hopefully for a clean. No notice or explanation. Just cordoned off like a crime scene lol. The pool on this occasion appeared to get dirtier and dirtier every day. Nobody showered before entering the relatively small pool in full sun cream. No sign to ask you to shower first before entering the pool. Scum and slime etc built up until one day there were masses of something nasty. It looked like vomit but it wasn’t. It was brought to lifeguard attention and pool then cordoned off and out of action for rest of the extremely hot day. So no pool and no hot tub. No apology or explanation. The pool needs a complete clean and overhaul. Looks like green algae around the top of the pool tiles and lots of missing tiles. As well as flies and leaves, we came across plasters and hair. It was not good. During our stay we were without water for approximately a day and a half. There was no explanation, no apology. Had to purchase litres of water for drinking, cleaning, washing up and for the toilet. However you could not use water to flush the toilet as the cistern lid could not be lifted. Bit good. Checked with others as thought it may be just us. For that duration without water there was no word from hotel management or liaison. Nothing. The very least shouid be a note through the door and either a voucher to purchase water or some litres of water. Very poor show by management regarding these incidents. Calling the spa a spa is a misnomer. During our stay on this occasion, beds were quite readily available so towels being left all day wasn’t an issue. Beds do need a clean down. There was only one little table to use with beds but it was filthy. Re pool. They do now allow inflatables but there can be many and some are huge for a small pool. Plus there is no consistency with lifeguards, with regard removing towels; using a net to remove flies etc from pool as some did and others didn’t; some allowed dive bombing and others didn’t. Think in a small pool that can be full of people it perhaps shouldn’t be allowed especially into shallower end.

All in all disappointing to see this resort go downhill but hopefully it will improve. Many we spoke to at the resort said they wouldn’t return but it was a particularly bad week. A quick efficient or any action or response from management would have helped this situation.
