Located just 500 metres away from the lovely beach Playa del Duque, the luxurious hotel enjoys a privileged position in the exclusive area of Costa de Adeje, in the south-west of Tenerife. The airport is about 15 minutes’ drive away.
From its elevated setting, it boasts breath-taking views over the Atlantic Ocean and the neighbouring island of La Gomera. The extraordinary hotel features a Colonial Canarian style and is surrounded by a beautiful tropical garden and pool landscape with sun terraces. Guests may be pampered in the spa and wellness area, they can relax in the outdoor pool area, have a delicious meal in the restaurant or some drinks in the bar.

Nice staff but not worth the price
We were disappointed with our stay, particularly given the price and the hotel’s five-star rating. There were some positives, but overall it didn’t feel like a five-star experience.
The staff were friendly and welcoming, and our room was very spacious. However, the décor felt dated and could do with an update.
Food was one of the biggest disappointments. There were very few vegetarian options, and the hot breakfast choices we tried were often watery and cold. The Italian restaurant was much better, and we really enjoyed the food ‘theatre’ and experience there.
The bar was another let-down. Cocktails were fairly basic but expensive, and on one evening the music was turned off around two hours before the advertised closing time, which very much gave the impression that guests were being encouraged to leave.
There were also some things that became frustrating. Wi-Fi in our room was unreliable, and no bottled water was provided. Instead, there is one filtered water machine per floor. Our room was a long way from it, so if you arrive back late and realise you have forgotten to fill up your water, you have to walk the length of the floor to get some. I appreciate the environmental reasons for reducing bottled water, but one machine per floor doesn’t feel adequate for a large five-star hotel. More refill stations would be a simple solution.
The outside bar area is pleasant, but the Christmas-style string lights felt surprisingly tacky and out of keeping with what we expected from a hotel at this level.
Overall, there were things we liked, particularly the friendly staff, the size of the room and the Italian restaurant. But for the amount we paid, there were too many areas that fell short. We expected a noticeably higher standard from a five-star hotel and unfortunately didn’t feel that the experience justified the price.

Fantastic hotel, absolutely amazing staff, definitely a five star experience. Stunning views as up a hill. Plenty of choice for breakfast and amazing pool areas. I would definitely stay here again and 100% recommend the hotel

Exceptional spa experience
I had a fantastic experience at the spa. I booked in for a 80 minute Abhyanga massage which felt amazing and really helped to relieve my tight shoulders. The environment makes you feel truly pampered. The circuit facilities remind me of an Aires spa but at a fraction of the cost. The staff are warm, friendly and welcoming and are always happy to do whatever they can to make your time even better. An exceptional place to unwind, de-stress and recharge.
Fantastic hotel!
Just come back from a week long stay at the hotel. I can honestly say that it was one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in. The food is amazing and unlike other hotels that offer buffet style it’s hot and tasty with a great choice. The room was fantastic and house keeping was fantastic. The pools and the grounds are kept immaculately clean and there are plenty of staff to serve drinks and food at a very reasonable price. The reception staff are great and a special mention to Oliver who help us with our luggage and gave us a glass of champagne while we waited to be picked up which was a great way to end the holiday. We can’t wait to go back and anyone thinking of booking it just do it you won’t be disappointed!

Excellent hotel.
The hotel accommodation was very comfortable and clean. The staff were welcoming, friendly and accommodating. The services provided was good and the food choices were varied and tasty. There is a shuttle service from the hotel to the beach at certain times of the day which makes it accessible to those who are less able bodied. Would recommend this holiday as a place to stay in Tenerife.
