Poor reception staff and changing facilities
We were delayed on an already late arrival time so never got into the apartment until after 10pm. A 1 bedroom apartment 36D was spacious and modern with new cooker/microwave, washing machine, Diswasher, kettle and toaster. Aircon in main lounge area and bedroom was good. Large balcony with 2 reclining chairs , table for 4 & 4 more chairs with a large parasol. Plenty of sunloungers round the pool. Towels has a €20 deposit on them. Pool was warm enough. Bar staff in the breakfast area and around Zachary's bistro were attentive and friendly. The reception staff however are quite cold and rude , abrupt and can't be bothered. My wife asked 24 hours in advance if it was possible to pay to extend our check out time. We were met with a firm "no this company does not offer late check outs". Then 24 hours later whilst sat in reception the gentleman in room 10B asked for a late check out and after a few taps on the keyboard was told he could have a late check out. The changing facilities are poor to get showered and changed in, (the disabled toilet ) if you have a day by the pool and an evening flight it's not fit for purpose. No soap/shampoo power sockets for hairdryers, no seating , no dry area to stand to change. The lack of suitable changing area and the reception staff demeanour real spoils what could be a fantastic holiday resort. Hence the 3* review.

Poor courtesy room
This is a lovely complex, with modern, clean apartments. Our apartment was spacious, clean and really well equipped. The reason I've only given 3 stars is, we had to check out at 10am and the only courtesy room was the disabled toilet. This toilet is situated near the pool and there was no electrical socket. So unable to use a hair dryer and a disabled person can't use the toilet if someone is using the shower. We asked if we could pay to have a later check out as our flight wasn't until 21:10 and we were given a very blunt NO. Considering we didn't get into our room the Friday before until 10pm I feel a late check out should be made available, and I don't mind paying a bit extra for this. The holiday companies really need to get their act together and offer late check out, or a better courtesy room so that customers enjoy their last day
Avoid at all means
I was extremely disappointed with this property because the reality was very different from the impression created by the listing and photographs. The photos mainly focus on the apartments themselves, the swimming pool and the restaurants, but give very little sense of what the property actually looks like as a whole. In particular, there are hardly any photos showing the common areas and the spaces between the residences. These areas felt very bare, empty and unattractive, with bars on the windows that, to me, gave the place an almost institutional or prison-like appearance. Another major downside was the layout and access. The accommodation is spread across separate residential-style buildings, with roads running directly through the complex. Some units are located immediately next to the road, and the entrances to the residences and apartments can be approached directly from outside rather than through a hotel reception or controlled-access area. There is no screening before reaching the individual accommodation units. This made me feel considerably less secure than I would in a normal hotel, where access to guest rooms is generally through the hotel itself. The location was also very inconvenient, you need a car to get almost anywhere. If the pictures of the complex had been accurate, I would never have booked a stay there...
Unpleasant Experience
Throughout our stay in Apartment 31D, we experienced a persistent and unpleasant odour that made the apartment uncomfortable to occupy. We reported the issue daily and, while some members of staff were helpful and courteous, there appeared to be a lack of urgency in addressing our concerns. Despite several visits from the maintenance team, the problem remained unresolved for the entirety of our stay.
I submitted a formal complaint six days ago; however, it has neither been acknowledged nor responded to. This lack of communication has added to my disappointment and frustration.
As a responsible company, I would expect customer queries and formal complaints to be acknowledged and addressed in a timely manner. Even where an immediate resolution is not possible, keeping customers informed demonstrates professionalism, respect, and a commitment to customer satisfaction. Unfortunately, this has not been my experience.
Based on the unresolved issue, the lack of response to my complaint, and the overall standard of customer service received, I cannot recommend this resort based on my personal experience. While I appreciate the efforts of some individual staff members, the overall handling of our concerns fell well below expectations.
My Happy Place in Tenerife — I’ll Be Back Next Year!
I had a wonderful stay at Wyndham Residences Golf del Sur and felt genuinely happy and relaxed throughout my holiday. The apartment was exceptionally clean, comfortable and well maintained, and the whole resort had a peaceful, welcoming atmosphere.
Check-in took only about ten minutes and check-out was equally smooth and pleasant. The reception staff were professional and helpful, while the housekeeping ladies were kind, discreet and very respectful. I also loved the freshly prepared tropical fruit drinks and the delicious iced coffee.
It was a truly enjoyable experience from beginning to end. I felt very comfortable here, would happily recommend the resort to others, and I am already planning to return next year.
