H10 Conquistador

Just arrived back from 10 days at the Consuistador as a family of four staying in a suite. Firstly, the room was fantastic with three separate rooms (2 bedrooms and lounge) room 314. The terrace was genuinely fantastic and I would sit out day and night admiring the view.

Staff were fantastic, particularly the entertainment team and the buffet team. They were always helpful and friendly.

Need to be down early for a sunbed, the lifeguards were sporadic on who they targeted with a notice about towels. This is not something I'm bothered about but the wife and kids spent a lot of time by the pool. You can get a sunbed from 8 but you cant go for breakfast till 9 if you want to leave towels. The wife did that and got a notice on the bed at about half 9 that they would remove towels if not back by half 10. I think once into the afternoon they're not bothered, just seems a bit inconsistent.

Entertainment was great with kids disco at night and shows. During the day, they put on events in the pool open to all ages. I think the pool area would be totally complete if there was a slides for kids but that is a minor thing.

Food can get a bit samey, I got buffet boredom. We were half board, our spend in the hotel over the 10 days for drinks and snacks was about £650. I think all inclusive would've cost about £1400 so don't think it's worth it considering you'd probably want one or two dinners out and want to drink outside too. You can swap dinners for lunches.

General area is fantastic, right round the corner is the golden mile with shops, bars and restaurants. It's also right on the seafront with lots of bars, shops and restaurants too. It's a very clean area. Nice walk to Costa Adeje and Los Christianos along the coast for more bars restaurants and shops.

Minor suggestion would be to have a snack bar operating all day, they start serving snacks at 4pm at the pool bar which feels quite late to me. Sure a dedicated snack bar from 12-6 would go down well with guests.

When there as a half board guest, you use your wristband to pay for everything and then settle at reception at a later date. Think the limit was about £500 before they put a letter under the door to ask to settle the account.

There is a taxi rank outside for taxis so no need to order one. Do not use Uber for return journeys, they're very expensive. Get the taxiclick app if there's not a taxi rank nearby.

If you're going go karting, arrange this at the go karting van on the golden mile, they'll pick you up and take you back.

If not booking a package, get transfers from sun transfers, genuinely fantastic for £120 return. Straight to the door and were even early picking us up again. No picking other guests up or dropping off, just 20 mins door to door. Having done it for the first time, I think booking separately is cheaper and a better overall experience. We had a better room than we'd have got through a package, got to choose our flights and had a better transfer.

Kids had a great time, it's the sort of place where they'll make friends as it's not a revolving door hotel (not like Club Mac in Alcudia for example) and you'll see the same people day in day out at the pool and the evening entertainment.

We would book the hotel and again and would definitely use the H10 group again.

Lastly, the wee one had a fall and the hotel were great. They even sent up some chocolates and a daisy soft toy to the room. Was much appreciated.

Great hotel. Food was good and perfect location. Highly recommend the privilege upgrade. Thank you to Raphael and Sandrine for making it so special. Great idea having the party for the privilege guests on 1 of the evenings. Shame it was only 2 hours as would love to have stayed longer.

Came back after 12 days at the start of July. What’s good: Location pretty good and close to everything with walkout on to beach front. Food is decent enough with enough selection overall. Pool is very big with loads of beds and umbrellas.

What’s bad: Hard sell when you arrive “do you want all inclusive ?” “ do you want a pool view?” Felt really pressured when you first book in. Then to get a room on the first floor with NO view is a bit steep knowing there were others available. Don’t use your wristband to pay! You will get a bill they can’t explain so pay as you go or don’t use their bars. No kettle ? Sounds petty but I had to request one. Restaurant is absolutely jam packed at peak time! I mean REALLY packed. Don’t fall for the photographers! Another hard sell where they take many photos of you and your family. Very pleasant until they hit you with 130euros! Honestly! Don’t fall for it. Also had a few cockroaches in the rooms over the period. Not many so hardly an infestation but when you call reception you do expect the cleaner the same day…sadly not here.

Would I go back? Maybe but never during a busy time and never on the 1st floor facing nothing. Overall it was OK ish but I’ve been in much better in Tenerife. Try Parque la Paz five mins away. Much nicer!
