Riu Buenavista Hotel

2 Adults 2 Childen aged 11/12 We loved our stay at the Riu Buenavista. The hotel is very clean and the staff work very hard to maintain to high levels. We had a 2 bedroom apartment overlooking the activity pool which was perfect. So spacious, huge balcony and plenty of storage - though I would recommend another set of drawers in the second bedroom. Body wash and conditioner in the shower was good. Hairdryer in the bathroom too. Toilet is separate to the shower room and I would recommend they add a small wash basin in here as there is plenty of space for one.

We ate at the Atlantico and Yaiza Buffet. Plenty of food options. We ate something different every day. Lots of salmon, duck, steak which we loved. Also burgers, fries, pizza. Plenty of vegetables & a large variety of fruit and pastries and some evenings there was a chocolate fountain. We couldn’t complain at all.

Sunbeds were easy to find even after 10am lots available (we were there first week of August). The pool is clean and the water was warm. Plenty of entertainment around the pool, aqua aerobics, water volleyball etc. Infinity pool is a family pool but doesn’t allow inflatables. The activity pool and titanic pool both allow inflatables. We spent all our days at the titanic pool. There is also a gated toddler pool with slides and sunbeds which looked really fun for the younger ones and an adult pool which we didn’t go to.

Lovely walk out the gate by titanic pool and along the beach and up to the Hard Rock Hotel. We visited the sky bar to see the sunset which was a must!

Various bars and great entertainment. Neon night and musicals was our highlight. Loved the pool bar at night. Saxophone player was incredible! Took card games to play with the kids.

One day we got a bus from the Rosa Center (bus stop 5min walk from hotel front entrance) to Costa Adeje (7€ for family of 4). Bus 471 and ran regularly until around midnight.

Taxi to Siam Park was 23€ each way.

A few recommendations we would make would be to add some entertainment for pre-teen / teens like pool tables, more table tennis tables, hangout space etc.

The hotel is built on a hill so various levels, it is flat ground but quite steep in places, ok for us but may be problematic for those with mobility difficulties. Though there is plenty to do at the top level of the hotel without the need to go to the bottom level.

All in all this was a really lovely hotel stay and I can understand why people return again and again. We hope to return one day.

We have just returned from our stay at this hotel and I don’t have anything bad to say at all, it really is a fabulous hotel. It is clean, tidy and the housekeeping staff are very efficient and thorough. The restaurant staff and waiters were so attentive and friendly, Infact all the staff were friendly and approachable. There is plenty to do, 4 large adults pools and a children’s pool with a small baby pool too. We sometimes didn’t get down to the pool until gone 10am and we were still able to get sunbeds. The food was all lovely, although the only complaints I do have is that they didn’t serve the roast chicken more, it was delicious. And there wasn’t much choice of food for children, if you have picky eaters id probably say they would struggle. There was pizza, spaghetti and chips but no other child friendly options. There are activities and sports to get involved in during the day with a timetable available in reception. The hotels location is perfect, a short walk (5 mins) there is a shopping centre with a Jd sports, Levi’s, perfume shop, make up shop, lefties, stravidarus etc and a supermarket. There is also a restaurant and a Burger King in the centre with a soft play and small rides for children. A bit further (near the hard rock hotel) 10 mins walks, is a street full of souvenir shops and bars, there are tandoori restaurants and an Italian restaurant, and another supermarket. There is a small beach near the hotel with a small play park for children. We were lucky enough to have a room with a sea view which was amazing. The family suite was spacious and the beds were comfortable. Air con worked perfectly. The entertainment was top notch, especially the neon party on the Friday. It really was spectacular, something you would pay to go to but it’s included! They go all out with the decorations, music, dancers on podiums, bubbles, smoke machines, dancers in light up costumes, the vibes were amazing and everyone was having a good time. I’ve never known another hotel to do something like it. We enjoyed our stay and found the hotel to be perfect for us. We took our 2 year old toddler and found there was enough to do to keep him entertained, the cot bed bedding was changed regularly and was a good quality one. The hotel is not too far from the airport which is a godsend when travelling with children. I definitely recommend visiting!

This hotel is amazing! We spent 10 days here and we can honestly say it’s one of the nicest hotels we’ve stayed in. Very clean, great food, brilliant entertainment and the staff are lovely.

Food was lovely always something for everyone and just what you would expect for all inclusive. I’ve got coeliac disease and always managed to find something and was never poorly. I made sure I was one of the first at the restaurant before everyone else to help the risk of cross contamination. My highlight of the holiday was that they did Gluten free beer if you asked at the bar.

The entertainment on a night was good but the only thing I would say is that some nights it finished a little bit too early. The white party was brilliant they really do put on a brilliant night and work so hard to make sure everyone has a good time. We were also lucky enough to be there for the foam party as I think this is every 2 weeks. There was also activities during the day aqua aerobics/ yoga/ water polo/ volleyball / darts / football and bingo etc.

Pools are all lovely. We stayed around the infinity pool more than any of the others and the only thing I would say is that it was freezing, it never really warmed up till well into the afternoon but it wasn’t a big deal to us. The 2 bottom pools were closed 4 times when we were there because of parents not being responsible and putting nappies on their children. It just ruined it for everyone else but it’s not the hotels fault at all they were straight on the ball to clean the pool. It could happen in any hotel.

NO SUNBED WARS But you do need to be up before 9 if you want a decent bed if you’re not bothered where you want to be you will always find a bed.

Rooms are lovely, we had 2 twin rooms next door to each other with a sea view and couldn’t have asked for anything better.

Location is quiet but up the road there is a shopping centre and if you walk out the back gate (near the bottom pool) and walk up near the hard rock there is more shops/bars and restaurants. You can go for a little stroll along the sea front too. We went to Costa Adeje, las Americas and Siam park all 10 -15 mins away and cost 20 euros ish each way.

We would definitely return.
