- Blue Sea Puerto Resort

The family-friendly hotel is located in the popular holiday area of Puerto de la Cruz in Tenerife, with wonderful views over the Orotava Valley, Mount Teide and the Atlantic Ocean. The volcano of Mount Teide, Spain's highest mountain, can be reached within 45 minutes by car, the airports Tenerife North and Tenerife South are approximately 25 km and 100 km away, respectively. The hotel features confort and spacious rooms, 24-hours reception, currency exchange, WIFI, meeting room, outdoor pools, children's pool, playground, mini-club, restaurant, bar, spa and wellness, fitness centre and sports facilities.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
I'll start with the good, the food was lovely and a lot of choice. We had picky eaters and every day and night we found something and desert and sweet for kids is a great touch. We ate out two nights but that was a choice. Drink has everything you need and the €1 for a cup is a great idea. Staff so friendly especially restaurant staff, not all speak English so please don't think they're rude. The lion king show and animation team are amazing. Staff at reception so welcoming and accommodating when we checked in late and close to restaurant closing time. Location for us was great, some bars, restaurants and shops right outside. Free shuttle bus to promenade but 15-20 min walk down the famous steps if you fancy a stroll. Rooms great sizes and the option to use the other hotel across the road was great. The only bad thing which I think could easily be fixed is there was a lot of broken tiles in the swimming pool and my son cut his foot, please fix them as they're in the small child pool and on the walking slope to the main pool. The only other negative is the speaker system is not very loud for evening entertainment so if you're sitting at the bar it's hard to hear the shows and bingo. I'd definitely come again and would also like to thank the amazing life guard who was so attentive and helped my son with a plaster. Massive advantage to this hotel is no sunbed wars, good choice of food and drink and the location in the absolutely stunning PDLC. You have captured my heart and I'll be back.
DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL Extremely disappointing. This is NOT a 4 star hotel.I honestly regret booking Blue Sea Canarife Palace. What we experienced was completely different from what is presented on the hotel’s website and in the photographs. The biggest problem was the smell. Our room had a strong, persistent smell of mould, and the carpets were extremely old and deeply impregnated with an unpleasant smell. The smell was so strong that it was difficult to stay comfortably in the room. The furniture and the overall condition of the hotel are extremely outdated. Everything looks old and tired. In my opinion, this hotel is nowhere near a 4 star standard. I would give it 2 stars at most. The bathroom was also unacceptable. There was a strong smell similar to a public toilet, and the bathroom did not give us the impression that it was being properly disinfected or maintained. The food was another major disappointment. The quality was average and the choice was very limited. There was very little variety, and after a few meals we were already tired of the options available. Customer service was also disappointing. Some members of staff were extremely rude and unwelcoming. The only staff members who really stood out positively were the cleaning ladies and the staff at the pool bar. The restaurant manager was particularly unpleasant. She was extremely strict and made the restaurant experience uncomfortable. On one occasion, I only wanted to get some hot water for a coffee and was told that I had to queue with everyone else, even though I was not taking any food. The coffee was so poor that I eventually went to a local shop and bought my own coffee. If you are travelling with children, do not expect much entertainment. There is a small children’s pool, but there are very few activities for kids. For a hotel advertised as 4 star, this was very disappointing.Another serious issue is the difference between what is shown online and what you actually receive. It appears that the Blue Sea complex has different sections, including renovated and non renovated areas, but this is not clearly explained when booking. The photographs shown online do not reflect the condition of the room and facilities we experienced. The hotel also feels very Spanish focused when it comes to communication. Spanish is clearly the dominant language, and as international tourists we sometimes struggled to communicate properly with staff. There were many other problems during our stay, but this review would be far too long if I listed everything. The good points were the cleaning staff and the pool bar staff. They were friendly and helpful. But overall, this hotel needs serious renovation, better cleaning and hygiene standards, better food, better customer service and much more transparency about what guests are actually booking. DO NOT TRUST THE PHOTOS ON THE WEBSITE. DO NOT EXPECT A 4 STAR EXPERIENCE. Based on our experience, I would rate this hotel 2 stars at most.I would not return and I would not recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable 4 star holiday.
Just got back yesterday from a 10 night stay at Bluesea resort and can hon stay say we had the best family holiday was bit worried after reading some reviews but I could only find 2 negatives so I’ll start with them we stayed at the Canarife hotel part of 3 which you can use all pools , restaurants and restaurants entertainment and amenities at all 3 but firstly the entertainment was a bit standard although the team work really hard and encourage you to take part and get involved shout out to sabina especially the 2 nd being that you are not allowed any pool toys ,inflatables , floaties or balls which was bit disappointing as my children look forward to these days in the pool having fun and I have never come across such strict pool rules the life guard would literally blow his whistle at you if you walked on grass or flipped into pool but children were getting a little bored anyway that’s the negatives now for the positives we were in a superior room with balcony on the 5 th floor and the room was so big and clean with lovely furniture and decor ,with the most amazing views on a large balcony seeing the sunrise /set and mount tiede We did after the 5 th night at about 4 in morning get woke by water leaking from ceiling but when spoke to the reception desk they were so helpful and offered for it to be fixed which they couldn’t so moved us just 2 doors down to another stunning spacious really clean pool view room All the staff were so friendly and helpful although not all speak good English but In and around the rooms , pool and hotel are spotless you can smell and see how clean everywhere is and staff are always cleaning The food options were so good I’ve never ate so much on a all inclusive as was so much good variety Breakfast had full English options with fried , boiled , scrambled and omelette eggs along with cold meat n cheese breads , pastries ,chocolate fruit , yoghurt even pancakes Lunch and dinner had always something to choose and snacks thro out day were hotdogs burgers chips nachos n cheese Fruit biscuits and ice creams also offered at certain times throughout day You won’t go hungry I think the 1Euro deposit for a cup is great idea as stops all the rubbish / smashed cups around pool and makes it easier on staff who work hard behind the bar The hotel is great location with shops supermarket bars n restaurants n clubs close by And loro parque zoo only being 10 min away is a amazing day out well worth visit there is a free train which stops at the centre which is about 20 min walk away which also has a gorgeous location called Costa Martinez only 6euros each stunning views and pools and includes sun lounger there is also shopping centre and mc Donald’s there Agatha Christie steps are a lovely part of history and nice to walk down maybe not as nice on way up but there is a Chinese called jade verde there which we found really nice Siam park although being over hour away is good day out and I’d say swim shoes are a must if going Thank you for a enjoyable family holiday with amazing memories made to last forever we would defiantly recommend and would love to come back We loved it thank you
Stayed here for 1 week at Bonanza Palace in a suprerior room. Puerto De la Cruz was nice little town, 20 minute walk to beach/town area down hill, fairly steep walk back on foot - nice walk. Hotel does provide free shuttle bus. Well worth a trip down for a dip in the ocean. Visited last week in July it was mainly cloudy 4 days of 7, still warm with sunny spells. 1 day was clear skies all day - out of hotels co trol, just for info
Room was very nice, well maintained and clean during our stay. Didn't feel the need for air-conditioning or kettle which some complained about.
Good that you could use facilities at all 3 hotels, we spent most of the day at Interpalace hotel around the pool, there was always sunbeds available there, it was busier at Bonanza Palace.
Entertainment- the animation staff were good, just felt there wasn't enough activities during the day for adults. Timetable was different to what actually went on, 2 days it just didn't happen. Evening entertainment was poor, except for 2 nights (Mr and Miss hotel & the Disney musical), other nights the entertainment it was the mistakes that were being made that made it fun.
Tennis cost €10 plus €10 deposit for kit hire. The tennis equipemnt wasnt worth €1!! My racquet handle was held together with a nail and thr other had no drip, we were given 1 ball which was not an actual tennis ball. Needed to leave €10 deposit for mini golf, Table Tennis and Tennis.
No balls or floats on pool which we were fine with. Pool felt cold on entry but soon got used to it once in there!
€1 deposit for cups was a good thing we felt, didnt have cups laying about all over.
Table Tennis table was in need of repair too.
Gym - would only allow 4 people in and had to book. Morning slots taken quickly. Equipment all worked fine.
Restaurants - had use of 3 restaurants across the resort, all 3 served the same food, there was always a good choice of food covering all bases. Felt the Italy themed night food was poor, but was always chicken or pork available. Breakfast had plenty of choice, didnt like thr bacon or sausage, but kids ate it.
Staff all very good and helpful when needed.
Overall hotel was good just dropped 1 off rating for entertainment, charge for tennis was a bit much, iust meant wenonly played once and poor equipment for Tennis and Table Tennis. Would stay again, overall enjoyed our holiday.
Some good, some not so good
GOOD;
NOT SO GOOD
