Kaila City Hotel

If travelling from Antalya Airport by transfer shuttle, be prepared for a 3+ hour journey. We landed around 8pm, left the airport at 9pm and arrived just after midnight. We were then told our room wasn’t ready due to “technical difficulties” and, as it was just me and my 6-year-old son, we were sent to the sister hotel, Kaila Beach, for the night.

We couldn’t properly unpack at the sister hotel as we had to check out again at 10am. We then returned to Kaila City, finally got our room and had to spend time unpacking and getting organised. After a full first day of travelling, this meant a good part of our second day was also lost dealing with the room situation.

The hotel itself has potential. The pool and slide are decent, rooms are cleaned regularly and bottled water is provided.

Unfortunately, the food was our biggest disappointment. Very little was suitable for children, it was bland and pretty much the same every night. My son mainly lived on chips and chocolate pancakes. I also witnessed flies landing on the cereal and around the counters. Snacks were mainly chips and burgers, while ice cream was only available at an allocated time, with one per person.

The location was also disappointing. There are barely any bars or restaurants nearby, mainly just markets selling the same things, including fake football shirts.

My son wanted to visit an arcade, so we walked around 10 minutes to Deffin Game Centre. The arcade isn’t part of the hotel, but the walk there felt uncomfortable at times, passing abandoned-looking buildings and scaffolding with hardly anyone around. Unfortunately, the arcade itself wasn’t great either.

We were the only British family for 5 of our 7 nights, until another British family arrived. If you’re looking for a typical British abroad atmosphere, this probably isn’t the place for you.

The hotel is also very far out for excursions, meaning we were always first pick-up and last drop-off. However, Dino Park and Land of Legends were both worth the journey and I’d recommend them.

Some, not all, staff struggled with English. One funny moment: I asked a waitress if my lost key card had been handed in — she first thought I wanted a baby chair, then somehow guessed I wanted a lighter! 😂

Entertainment was also very limited, mainly children being brought up to dance.

I can’t comment on the beach or beach bar as we never used them.

Despite everything, me and my son still had laughs and made memories, and the hotel could have been worse. But when you’re paying a lot of money, especially for all-inclusive, you expect to feel you’re getting your money’s worth. Unfortunately, it didn’t meet our expectations.

The hotel has potential, but based on our experience, I wouldn’t stay again. Thanks for having us.

Well where do I start We came for ten days, and from the minute we stepped through the door it was smiles all round. ALL the staff are amazing, so helpful, everything is done with a smile. Bar staff are good fun and it was lovely to chat and have a laugh with them. Reception staff go above and beyond, they are helpful and very friendly.The cleaning staff work so hard the hotel is SPOTLESS, ( even the pool bar toilets ). Rooms cleaned daily and smell lovely. We have had a amazing time and would definitely recommend the hotel, this hasn't happened for a while but I'm sad to be going home. Until next time, thank you for a lovely holiday 😊
