Everything especially food was awful

Mold in the bathrooms ,cockcroaches in the room every where, thousands of ants ,no beach chairs at the beach, our whole family got sick ,worst vacation ever . Avoid Avoid Avoid

Overall, Selectum Noa Belek is a nice hotel with good facilities, and most of the staff were very friendly, kind and helpful. However, for the price being charged and the fact that this is advertised as a 5-star hotel, we expected much more. The biggest disappointment was the main beach. The hotel’s advertising shows beautiful sunbeds and cabana-style beds on the beach, which was one of the reasons we chose this hotel. Unfortunately, when we arrived, there were no sunbeds or cabanas on the main beach . We were told at reception that this was because of sea turtles. This information was not made clear in the advertising when we booked. The alternative beach provided by the hotel was, in our opinion, very disappointing. It was poorly maintained, dirty in places and nowhere near the standard we expected from a 5-star resort. It was especially frustrating because the beach shown in the advertising was a major factor in our decision to book. The food was generally good and there was always plenty to eat, so you definitely won't go hungry. However, we found the food selection quite repetitive, with almost the same dishes being served on many days. On two occasions, we also noticed that the tomato salsa/salad did not seem fresh and appeared to be out of date. We reported this to staff, but unfortunately there was a language barrier and they did not seem to understand what we were trying to explain. Another disappointment was the limited ice cream serving times for children. For a 5-star family resort, we expected ice cream to be available for longer periods during the day. This is something we have never experienced in other hotels of a similar standard. There is also a noticeable language barrier. Many members of staff struggled to understand English, and even at reception communication was sometimes difficult. This made it harder to explain problems or ask questions. Overall, the hotel itself is nice and most of the staff are genuinely friendly and hardworking. But for the money we paid, we expected a much higher standard, especially regarding the beach, food variety, communication and overall 5-star experience. Would we return? Probably not at the current price. If the hotel updated its advertising to accurately reflect the beach situation and improved the alternative beach, food variety and communication with guests, it could be a much better experience.
