Barut Hemera

We have just returned from a 7 night stay at Barut Hemera. We can't recommend the hotel highly enough.
We have been to turkey many times but this was our first time in Side. We decided to book the hotel based on the positive reviews, mainly regarding the staff. We weren't disappointed.
From the moment we arrived at the hotel, we were greeted by two members of staff that welcomed us to Barut Hemera. The porter took care of our luggage and we were seated in a comfortable seating area and asked if they could get us a cold drink while we filled in the check in details. We were shown on a map where the hotel facilities were and option of al la Carte restaurants which we were able to enjoy one night of our stay (we were lucky enough to have two included the Italian and the international). We were then shown to our room by the porter, who was very friendly and chatty. This was how all the staff we encountered during the holiday were throughout our stay. The service from all staff was exceptional, the best weve ever had at a hotel. They make they hotel !! The two that really stood out are Kenan who looked after us at breakfast and Fevzi around the pool bar. Both very attentive, checking to see if we needed anything and showing a genuine interest in us. You could tell that they really cared that you were having a good holiday. We were very lucky have been at the hotel on the 19th of September when they held the oktoberfest. This event was the highlight of our holiday and you could see a lot of preparation had gone into it. They are doing another oktoberfest on 28th September so if your staying at the hotel don't miss it.
We were spoilt for choice for places to relax, wether it was by one of the pools, on the beach or comfortable seated areas on the decking ),this was our favourite spot to sit and watch the world go by). This is the first time we've had the use of qr codes to be able order refreshments to your table or lounger, which was a nice touch. Excellent cocktail menu, food in all restaurants we ate in were of a high standard. The hotel is located approx 30/40 minute walk along a promenade to the old town. It was even more beautiful than we could have expected. We wish the hotel was a little closer to the old town. As when we walked back late in the evening it was still a hot 27-28 degrees. A bus is available at 3 euros for the 2 of us but this only took you half way to the ruins. Taxi each way was 10 euros.

We have been here many times and always a great experience,however there are a few shinin stars who deserve a mention, firstly we have Abdullah at reception bar who never failed to sort me out with drinks first thing daily, always the same order and didn’t need reminding, Ummuon reception next for making sure we got our favoured room and that we were truly happy at all times. Next would be Ozge and Seyfullah in the reception bar evenings for ensuring we never wanted for anything .Seyfettin next for keeping my husband hydrated from top bar on his morning runs, Fevzi and Stella from pool bar for running about after us ensuring all needs met, always with a smile, Last but not least Nircihan on guest relations who did allsorts for us but mostly keeping us laughing. This review should include the guys from the Turkish, fish, burger, and international restaurants, fabulous. This hotel has stolen our hearts and to go anywhere else just isn’t for us anymore, it’s people, it’s position, size, beach etc are all perfect
