Prive Hotel Bodrum

We had a wonderful stay at Agaya and overall rate our experience very highly. It is not a large hotel, which suited us perfectly — in fact, this was exactly what we were looking for.

We stayed in the second half of September and absolutely loved the location. The hotel is beautifully situated in a bay, with stunning views of Bodrum Castle and the marina. Our room had a wonderful view, which made our stay even more special. The hotel is also conveniently located close to the town centre. There is a water taxi stop right next to the hotel, and it takes only about 15 minutes to reach the centre, making it very easy to explore Bodrum. The food was tasty and varied, with a particularly good selection of fresh fruit and vegetables. Most of the Turkish staff were very friendly and helpful. We would especially like to thank Pelin, who was incredibly helpful and arranged a special experience for us on our wedding anniversary. Thanks to her, it became a truly unforgettable day. Thank you, Pelin! We also really appreciated the peaceful atmosphere and the adults-only concept. It is an ideal place for couples looking for a relaxing getaway. There were a couple of minor things that could be improved. The evening entertainment and music can sometimes be quite loud, especially the music from neighbouring hotels, and it was clearly audible from our room. The bathroom could also benefit from some refreshing or renovation. Overall, however, we had a fantastic stay at Agaya and would happily return. We so enjoyed this holiday and the hotel had a big part in making it so good. The location is amazing. I never tired of the view across the bay to Bodrum and the castle. Seeing the sun rise above the hills behind the town is beautiful. We were so relaxed for the entire holiday. We did visit the town a few times (and the bazaar is amazing!), by the water taxi which is another lovely experience (and amazing value for 200tl each) but we just enjoyed the hotel. We booked a sea view room (well worth the extra cost for the amazing view) and it was lovely. We had to turn the acu up at night because we were too cold and it was still hot outside! The beds were comfortable and big. The bathroom was good with a big shower that worked really well. The fridge was restocked every day, although we didn't use it too much as it was so easy to get a drink elsewhere (our room was on level 5 which is the reception level and had a bar and an amazing patisserie). Everywhere was clean. Our cleaner was lovely. She did speak a bit of English (our Turkish is all but non existent) and could not have been nicer. I've seen comments about noise at night - don't know if it was because our room was on floor 5 (out of 7) but we never had a problem. The food was good, always plenty of choice for every meal and the desserts were far too good. I love omelettes and had one every morning but my wife had menemen (Turkish scrambled eggs) and she loved them. We loved lunch at the beach bar, well worth trying instead of the restaurant. The staff made our holiday 5 star - in the restaurant, in the bars, in reception and especially when on the sunbeds by the sea. They were all friendly and could not do enough for you. You can order drinks from your sunbed using a bar code but I only used it once. We were always asked if we wanted anything and did't need to use the code. The service was just so good This is the first holiday where I never went into the pool. Every day we had sunbeds (and there were always plenty) on the decking by the sea. You can walk down steps into the sea. It's warm and shallow enough to stand up in. This was the highlight of my holiday.
