Great budget hotel
This is a little gem of a budget hotel. Lots of great reasons to go. The location is bang on, right beside river. The rooms are good size, we were in family room, one double bed and one single. The A C was spot on and unlike lots of places, no extra to pay. Bathroom was good size and decent shower. Bathroom also had hairdryer, which was ok. Our balcony was tiny, although had small table and 2 chairs, all you need. The pool was a good size although beds were few and no cushions on beds. We felt they could have made a lot more of the pool. The best part of our stay was the free breakfast, typically turkish, but lots of choice and amazing quality. The breakfast team really did the hotel proud.
We did have a couple of niggles. The fridge in room was frankly useless, hardly kept anything cold. We like a cuppa before we see the world, but no kettle. In our research for this hotel we had seen that clean towels and cleaning of room was not done. You have to ask, they are more than happy to do it, this seemed strange to have to ask but it's how they do it. The hotel is attached to a pub which plays music until about midnight, which wasn't a problem for us, but might be for otheres. The staff at hotel was warm and friendly although English is limited, (my turkish is non existent) there seemed to be some one about at all times so felt safe. We thought for the money it was a great choice and would definitely go back.

Beautiful and friendly
Absolutely brilliant, we couldn’t fault this hotel at all The beds are so comfortable, the rooms are small but decorated nicely the bathrooms are lovely very stylish and upto date and very clean. The staff are so nice,and nothing is too much trouble for them. The staff and management the bar staff are all so friendly polite. The lads who run the bar are all very friendly and very polite, We are definitely going to goof for next year,I don’t think we would go anywhere else now. They also sell food ,and it was all very tasty and very well priced The hotel is in a very central location it’s two minutes into town, We would highly recommend the Smyrna hotel always

A perfect holiday experience at Smyrna Hotel & Retro Bar
We had everything we needed for a complete holiday at Smyrna Hotel, which is connected to the Retro Bar. The rooms were beautifully clean, the breakfast was excellent with a great buffet selection, and the atmosphere was amazing.
The 80’s music playing in the evenings created such a fun and relaxed vibe, with the pool, darts, and shuffleboard keeping everyone entertained. The food was absolutely delicious, the cocktails were even better, and the prices were very reasonable.
What really made our stay special was the wonderful hospitality. The owner, Mustafa and the boys looked after us so well and made us feel genuinely welcome. Their kindness and attention made our holiday even more memorable.
Highly recommended.
A Hidden Gem – Highly Recommended!
I had a lovely time at this hotel — the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout my stay. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped, and the atmosphere around the hotel was peaceful and inviting. I especially enjoyed the pool area and the tasty breakfast options each morning. Great value for money — I’d definitely stay again!
