Our 3 nights stay at Emerald Maldives resort and spa in a water villa with pool was absolutely perfect. From the breathtaking surroundings to the luxurious accommodation, every moment was unforgettable. A huge THANK YOU to SID, our personal butler, who truly made our stay exceptional. From the moment we arrived, he took care of every detail of our itinerary , booked all of our restaurant reservations and ensured everything ran seamlessly. He was always just a message away, no matter the time and was incredibly attentive, professional and genuinely caring. His dedication made us feel completely looked after throughout our holiday. The hospitality at Emerald was simply outstanding. Every single member of the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, comfortable, and thoroughly pampered. Their warmth, kindness and genuine smiles made such a lasting impression on us. We would also like to mention Azhu (Azhar) at Amazonico restaurant. He is such a kind, friendly, wonderful and an exceptional waiter. Thank you Azhu for making our evening at Amazonico restaurant so special. The food and drinks were exceptional with an impressive variety and outstanding quality across all the restaurants. This was our first trip away as a couple in a long time and it couldn't have been more perfect. Thank you everyone at Emerald Maldives for making our stay so memorable. We leave with beautiful memories and can't wait to return with our kids to create even more beautiful family memories..

From the impeccable cleanliness of the rooms to the attention to every detail, everything was perfect. Special thanks to Sid, who took care of us with truly unique kindness and helpfulness, to the manager, always there to make sure everything ran smoothly, and to Lucrezia for her invaluable help.

A heartfelt thank you also to all the restaurant staff: unfortunately, we don't remember everyone's names, but each of you contributed with professionalism, smiles, and thoughtfulness to making every day special.

As frequent travelers, both for leisure and business, we have stayed in many excellent hotels around the world. We are a middle-aged couple traveling with our 18-year-old twin sons, so we have a broad basis for comparison. We first visited Emerald Maldives Resort & Spa in 2021, during the COVID period, and returned this year with one concern: could it possibly be as wonderful as we remembered?

To our surprise, the answer was yes—and even more so. The resort has not only maintained its exceptionally high standards but has improved in every aspect.

Our journey began with a seamless seaplane transfer from Malé. From the moment we arrived at the Emerald lounge at the airport, everything was perfectly organized. The lounge offered comfortable seating, excellent coffee, drinks and light refreshments, making the wait enjoyable after a long international journey. Arriving on the island by seaplane remains one of the most spectacular experiences in the Maldives. Being welcomed with traditional drums, flower garlands, refreshing towels and sparkling wine immediately made us feel that our holiday had truly begun.

Our villa was not quite ready when we arrived, so the resort kindly offered us a temporary villa for a short time. Within less than two hours we were comfortably settled into our beautiful two-bedroom Family Beach Villa with Pool.

The villa itself is elegant, spacious and beautifully designed. The modern interior still feels fresh and timeless. The master bedroom is exceptionally large, with a huge bathroom, indoor bathtub, spacious shower and a wonderful outdoor shower. One of my favorite moments every day was showering while looking through the villa towards the turquoise ocean. It is a view I will never forget. Our sons had their own comfortable bedroom and bathroom, which looked almost brand new.

The private terrace offered everything we could wish for: dining area, swimming pool, sun loungers and direct access to our own stretch of white sandy beach. We also loved having bicycles waiting outside the villa. Exploring the island by bike became part of the daily experience and added so much freedom and enjoyment to our stay.

The villa was impeccably clean throughout our holiday. I am particularly sensitive to cleanliness, yet I genuinely could not find anything to criticize. The housekeeping team did an outstanding job every single day, and the minibar was constantly and generously replenished with drinks, wine, sparkling wine, coffee capsules, tea and snacks.

For our family, dining is one of the most important parts of any holiday, especially with two teenage boys who appreciate high-quality food. Emerald became the first hotel we have ever visited where both of our sons were completely satisfied with every meal throughout the entire stay.

Each restaurant had its own character. The Asian restaurant served wonderful authentic flavors, Amazonico offered some of the finest steaks we have ever tasted, Beach Club was perfect for relaxed lunches and dinners by the sea, while Aqua impressed us every day with its beautiful setting and extraordinary buffet. The quality, freshness and presentation of the food were exceptional. If we absolutely had to mention one small area for improvement, it would only be that we would have enjoyed a slightly wider fruit selection—but this is a very minor observation in an otherwise outstanding culinary experience.

The cocktails also deserve special mention. Whether alcoholic or non-alcoholic, every single one we tried was beautifully prepared using premium-quality ingredients. The Deluxe All Inclusive concept exceeded our expectations in every respect.

Some of us eating gluten-free, we were deeply impressed by the attention we received. The chefs immediately offered to prepare gluten-free versions of dishes, including fresh pasta, without us even having to ask. This level of personal care made us feel genuinely looked after.

The island itself is breathtaking. The crystal-clear lagoon, the calm shallow water created by the breakwaters, the powder-soft white sand and the vibrant shades of blue are exactly as beautiful as the photographs suggest—perhaps even more so.

The tropical vegetation deserves special praise. The gardens are maintained with extraordinary care, and it is impossible not to notice the dedication of the gardening team. One of our sons completed the botanical challenge, identifying dozens of plant species around the island. Gardeners and even members of the management happily helped him along the way. Walking through the illuminated jungle paths in the evening, accompanied by soft piano music, was one of the most peaceful experiences of our stay.

And finally, the people.

Luxury can be measured in many ways—beautiful villas, outstanding restaurants or crystal-clear beaches—but what truly makes a place unforgettable are the people who work there.

We would especially like to thank our butler, Shafiu, whose professionalism, kindness and efficiency were simply exceptional. From arranging restaurant reservations to responding within minutes to every WhatsApp message, nothing was ever too much trouble. He made every part of our stay effortless.

Our sincere thanks also go to the entire Emerald team. From the buggy drivers and housekeeping staff to the waiters, bartenders, chefs, gardeners and managers, every single person treated us with warmth, genuine kindness and sincere hospitality. It never felt rehearsed or artificial. Instead, it felt completely natural—as though making guests happy is simply part of who they are.

We already thought the service was outstanding in 2021. Returning five years later, we were amazed to discover that it had become even better. That was perhaps the greatest surprise of our entire holiday.

Emerald Maldives Resort & Spa is not simply a beautiful luxury resort. It is a place where you feel genuinely welcome, genuinely cared for and genuinely relaxed. We left with unforgettable memories and, without any doubt, we will return again.
