There are just so many reasons to choose the Lux Belle Mare Hotel. The setting is idyllic; it's located on the island's east coast in a quaint fishing village on the banks of the Indian Ocean. The accommodation is wonderful, with traditionally thatched roofs and classic, cool white furniture.
The complex is bordered by a perfect white beach and a lagoon that leads out to the wonderful warm waters of the ocean. There really aren't many more amazing holiday settings than this. The terraces of the junior suites at the Lux Belle Mare look out over the lagoon and gardens. Whether you look out and see the silvery moonlight reflecting in the still pool, or awake to the glimmering sheen of the sun-dappled water, this is heaven.
The facilities are exceptional too. All suites are air conditioned and come with satellite television, phone, minibar, safe, hairdryer, tea and coffee making facilities, and Wi-Fi internet access. Fourth visit.. for a reason !
We have just returned from our fourth stay at LUX* Belle Mare, this time as a multi-generational family of six, including two children, for 10 nights. There is a reason we keep coming back.
The hotel is in absolutely pristine condition and the location is difficult to beat. The view over that lagoon of turquoise water looks borderline AI!! The beach is truly beyond beautiful, the grounds are immaculate and the whole resort has that wonderful feeling of being luxurious without ever feeling overly formal or stuffy.
One of the things we love most about LUX* Belle Mare is that it genuinely works for everyone. You can spend ten days doing little more than lying on the beach, swimming and eating exceptionally well, or you can have your days completely jam-packed with activities. There is so much on offer for different ages, interests and energy levels, which made it particularly good for us travelling with grandparents and children. Everyone could have exactly the holiday they wanted, while still enjoying plenty of time together.
The food was excellent throughout our stay, with enough variety that even after 10 nights we never felt bored. The choice of restaurants and different dining experiences is a real strength of the resort.
This time we stayed in one of the villas and, particularly for a family, I think it is absolutely worth it. The additional space, private pool and privacy are wonderful, but what really makes the villa experience special is the team looking after you. A huge thank you to the villa Butlers and Housekeeping team...Kumar, Rao, Rahul, Kavi and Deoraj, and to our beach butlers Girish and Deoraj (The villas get their own private beach section.... what more could one want)
They looked after us so incredibly well and were always warm, attentive and genuinely lovely to be around. Nothing ever felt like too much trouble.
I also particularly want to mention Aisha from the front desk team, who's customer service was absolutely fantastic. She went out of her way to help us and make us feel SO at home, she was particularly lovely with our two kiddos too which is always a huge tick in a parents eyes.
It is people like Aisha, and the wonderful villa team, who turn a beautiful resort into somewhere you actually want to return to.
Having now visited four times, perhaps the biggest compliment we can give LUX* Belle Mare is that we still leave wanting to come back. Thank you to the entire team for another very special family holiday. We will most definitely be back for visit number five!

Wonderful days
We were there for our Honeymoon , and couldn’t be more perfect, and we couldn’t choose better place than Lux Belle Mere, wonderful staff and wonderful hotel, specially Bilall the guy from the bar, a really good professional and also and more important a really good person. We were always happy to see him in the morning in the bar and drink a wonderful coffee from him. Also Jennifer the lady of Event, she was really really wonderful with us since the first day till the last. We fall in love with the place but really thanks to people like them. We will come back again for sure to Lux in Mauritius.
Five star experience - great property and service!
LUX* Belle Mare made an outstanding first impression on my very first visit to Mauritius. From the moment I arrived, the hotel felt genuinely welcoming, and the level of hospitality throughout my stay was exceptional.
The property itself is beautiful, with immaculately maintained grounds and a gorgeous beach where I even saw people riding horses along the shoreline. My room was large, spotless, comfortable, and very well maintained. The Indian restaurant—Amari by Vineet—was a particular highlight, with genuinely distinctive food compared with the typical resort dining experience. The cocktails throughout the property were creative, with ingredients relevant to local history.
The breakfast options are plentiful and there were lots of options for vegetarians and vegans.
What really sets LUX* Belle Mare apart, though, is the service and attention to detail. I had an early-morning tour that required me to leave before breakfast, and the staff proactively arranged a takeaway breakfast for me. Even more impressively, they contacted me the night before to ask about my preferences so they could customize it. It was a small detail, but exactly the kind of thoughtful service that makes a luxury hotel memorable.
Communication was also excellent. The hotel was highly responsive to my emails both before and during my stay. They also honored my American Express Platinum $150 property credit without any difficulty or confusion, which I appreciated.
Overall, this was a phenomenal stay. Beautiful surroundings, excellent dining and drinks, spacious rooms, and—above all—an extraordinarily attentive team. LUX* Belle Mare was a wonderful introduction to Mauritius, and I would very happily stay here again.
