Solana Beach Mauritius

Hello guys ,this is my honest review.. hope it really helps..well to begin with, sOlana beach is indeed a beautiful hotel. Being there for the first time, some policies were really new to me for e.g despite being on an all inclusive pakage ,we had to pay for iron service, alsO buy chips or peanuts etc included in mini bar which seem weird to me but okay… we stayed for only 1 night at the hotel… the lady who took us to our room ,frankly speaking she just accompanied us WITHOUT giving any details about the room. She just said “voila votre chambre” and thats it she left.. this was not so professional to us compared to other hotels we”ve been… But to be honest the welcoming was fine. Speaking about the service , it was VERY LOW. For e.g no waiter would approch us to ask if we would like a drink etc.

For dinner .. they were so at ease. Us,locals and even some tourists table were unassisted ,like no water. We reached our last meal that is dessert ,it was then that the waiter would come to ask if we would like to have some water… Very poor service. Well, concerning the fOod ..genuinely speaking ,the food was LIT.. Lots &lots of varieties ..indeed very very delicious .. we enjoyed our tea time, dinner,breakfast n lunch.

The cocktails n mocktails were alsO very good except for my favourite beverage which is the virgin colada ..it tasted like water each time i ordered it.. i wish the managers check into this as its a very common drink that many people like and because ive seen many more people commenting about the same issue.

Hence,the hotel is so cozy n another vibe just some of the plate woods near the pool need to be fixed.. there were many broken ones and felt dangerous when stepped on …

I would like to thank Mr paz.. i had an issue with one of the dog over there… it took one of my sandals.. i did not have any to wear.. as the hotel policies we are not allowed to walk bare foot in restaurants.. my husband discussed this issue to Mr paz. The latter did his best to help me.. he proposed to send my breakfast to my room, said that there would be an exception for me if i agree to take my breakfast bare foot in the restaurant itself.. lastly he went to the spa manager,also a big thanks to this lady.. they both took their time and got me with a pair of sandals of my size (savate dodo) which i really really appreciated. Thanks to shesh, for my husband’s late birthday.. He and a girl sang a birthday song him. One thing i would like to add . We ,as couple did not like the way a lady took our order . We wont take her name.. but yeah.. there were no eye contact.. the lady seemed unprofessional while taking the order scratching her face and kept looking at the carnet while taking notes..

Lastly, big up to the boathouse team ,Mr ricardo such a gem as person. He does not only does his job but advices clients about safety or personal learnings.. he is indeed very friendly n strict towards rules n regulations.. he knows his job. We spent a really good time with him n alsO his team who assisted us.

My rOom was clean. Just dissapointed as they removed the deco which was on top of my bed(pink fillet) .. to be honest i booked this room ,had an outfit with the same colour of the deco. It was the main reason why i booked this room but when i got in and saw that it was missing ,it kinda dissapointed me.. Well i dont know if it was only missing from my room or for others also.

To be noted , a young waitress came to serve me my mocktail for dinner and to my surprise she threw the straw on the table ..as she was in a rush which felt so disrespecful.

I would like to thank this girl at the reception who came to ask if everthing went well and also asked if we would like to have napolitane and all while waiting for our taxi to come n pick us .she was really kind ,generous and kept a welcoming warm smile while talking even it was time to go home.if am not wrong her name was nirvana i guess.

Finally to end with.. i would say i enjoyed my stay at sOlana hotel just dont expect too much from the staff its very minim.. once again the food were VERY VERY GOOD FOOD, always fresh ones. Even ice cream cones or toppings . Lil things matters. Best experience from food sides.

The amazing ocean view from the room was a sight to behold, it made up for the otherwise ageing room and amenities. But the beach and ocean were spectacular, even the gardens were breathtaking . The hotel provides so many restaurants too with good quality food and beverages! The cocktails were very good too. However special mention and shout out to the FnB manager Paz who really brightened our stay with his natural good humour and helpfulness. The whole restaurant staff were welcoming and very helpful.
