The hotel lies on a private beachfront estate known as Balaclava along Turtle Bay, ideally located between Port Louis (12 km) and Grand Bay (12 km), on the north-west coast, which is known for its good climate. New trunk roads provide easy access to the hotel. Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport is approximately 60 km from the hotel.
This hotel is a luxurious beach resort and spa of the highest international standard, picturesquely framed by a 25-hectare green tropical garden and nature park and flanked by the Indian Ocean. Its remarkable setting overlooks the most enchanting Turtle Bay. The hotel is a perfect blend of tropical and colonial architecture which provides an elegant background for a sophisticated and yet utterly relaxing holiday, thanks to the unequalled multitude of sports and leisure facilities available. Renovated in 2009, this charming beach hotel has a total of 215 guest rooms. The premises are air-conditioned and guests are welcomed in a lobby with 24-hour reception and check-out service. Facilities include a hotel safe, currency exchange, hairdressing salon and a games room. Younger guests can let off steam in the children's playground and kids' club. There is also a bar at the resort. Conference facilities are available to business travellers and all guests can take advantage of the WLAN Internet access provided. Furthermore, room and laundry services are on offer (fees apply). Those guests who are arriving by car may park their vehicle in the hotel's car park. Bicycles can be hired for a fee from the hotel.

The Fabulous Maritim Hotel & Spa Resort!
Our 4th Visit – Still Our Favourite Place in Mauritius
We have just returned from our fourth visit to the Maritim Resort & Spa Mauritius, having spent 12 nights at the resort from 6th September, and once again we have come home with so many wonderful memories.
There is a reason we keep coming back to the Maritim. From the moment you arrive, you are made to feel genuinely welcome, and throughout our stay the warmth, friendliness and professionalism of the staff really stood out. It is the people who make this resort so special, and on this visit, as with our previous three, we were made to feel more like returning friends than hotel guests.
The resort itself remains beautiful. The extensive grounds are wonderfully maintained, with lush tropical gardens, waterways, waterfalls and historic ruins making it a pleasure to walk around. Even after four visits, we still find ourselves discovering little corners and enjoying the peaceful surroundings. The setting on Turtle Bay is simply stunning, and there is something very special about being able to relax on the beach surrounded by such beautiful scenery.
Our room was comfortable, spacious and beautifully looked after, with the housekeeping team doing an excellent job throughout our 12-night stay.
The food and choice of restaurants continue to be a real highlight. There is plenty of variety, whether you fancy a relaxed lunch by the beach, an evening meal in one of the speciality restaurants or dinner in the main restaurant. The quality and presentation were consistently very good, and we particularly enjoyed being able to vary our dining experience throughout such a long stay.
The beach service deserves a special mention too. The staff are attentive without being intrusive and do everything they can to make your day relaxing. Sitting by the sea, enjoying a drink and watching the world go by is still one of our favourite things to do here.
We also made good use of some of the activities and facilities during our stay, and the spa remains a wonderful place to unwind. There really is something for everyone, whether you want to be active or simply switch off and relax.
One of the great things about returning to a resort for the fourth time is that you notice the little things — familiar faces, staff remembering you, and that feeling of being somewhere that has become a very special part of your holidays.
A huge thank you to everyone at the Maritim for another fantastic 12 nights. We have now stayed four times, and each visit gives us another reason to return.
We left Mauritius already talking about our next visit — which probably says everything!

Elite service at the Maritim Made Our Honeymoon Special
The staff at Maritim Resort in Mauritius only know top class service. Myself and my new wife witnessed 5 star treatment across the resort for our honeymoon. Azagen and his team at the Q Deck Bar were amazing: Azagen personally looked after us from morning to night with elite service, Adriano the bar tender was so friendly and made excellent cocktails, with servers Grace and Yvette providing such warm and friendly service. Davisan and his team at Lamaree restaurant also provided us with incredible service, he personally made sure we were looked after every night we visited and the food was phenomenal. They all made our honeymoon special and would recommend the resort to anyone.
Service at Q deck Bar
The service at Q deck bar exceeded our expectation while we were staying in Mauritius. Azagen manages his team so well and made our stay at the Maritin resort very memorable. Adriano provided the best cocktails and was always so attentive. Grace and Yvette provided the best service and always made sure we had a drink in our hand. Thank you for making our stay perfect.
La Mareé Restaurant
It was a fantastic experience! The atmosphere and ambiance were truly amazing, making us feel special throughout the evening. The seafood, in particular, was exceptional—everything was incredibly fresh and delicious. A special thanks to Davisen for taking such great care of us. His attentive, friendly service and hospitality made our visit truly memorable. We will definitely be back and highly recommend this place!

Unforgettable Honeymoon in a Tropical Paradise – Guided by Outstanding Staff
We spent almost three weeks in a suite at the Maritim Resort & Spa Mauritius, and overall, we felt incredibly welcome and comfortable throughout our stay. The resort itself features a breathtaking landscape—honestly, it feels even more beautiful than the nearby botanical garden! What truly made our holiday special, however, was the dedicated staff who put their whole heart into their work. Dining across the resort was a mixed experience with some incredible highlights. The food at both Anno and La Marée was consistently delicious. At Anno, the overall atmosphere was wonderfully pleasant, and you could immediately tell how seamlessly the team worked together. A big part of that was the restaurant manager, Rhubesh, who was super friendly, funny, and created a great dining environment. At La Marée, located right by the ocean, the waitstaff were extremely hard-working, and lunchtimes were wonderfully calm and relaxing. However, in the evenings, we felt that the manager, Davisen, seemed overwhelmed in his role; he was frequently rude and loud toward his team, which felt unnecessary and made us feel genuinely sorry for the staff. We had previously wondered why he is mentioned so positively by name on TripAdvisor, but we quickly realized the reason: he repeatedly asked us to leave a positive review mentioning him, and when we didn't do so right away, he approached my husband again the very next day to push for it.
Our main criticism regarding the dining experience was the long wait times for dinner in general, particularly at the Banyan restaurant, where my meal took nearly 1.5 hours to arrive. Beyond the restaurants, several team members went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable.
The Suite Beach Manager, Jay, is an amazingly funny person with his heart in the right place, who intuitively anticipated our every wish before we even had to ask. We would also like to highlight our butlers, Dhiraj and Jeffrey. They visited us at the beach every day, were always ready to help with anything we needed, and were a joy to talk to. We especially enjoyed our long conversations with Dhiraj, who shared so much fascinating insight about Mauritius with us. Both of them do a phenomenal job! Despite our great experience, there were a few minor points that could be improved. Although we had notified the hotel in advance about our honeymoon and presented our marriage certificate again at check-in, the hotel unfortunately did not provide any Honeymoon Special for us. Additionally, on weekends, local teenagers gathered at the beach pavilion, playing loud music and throwing fishing hooks into the water directly inside the designated swimming zone. Finally, we took advantage of a spa promotion offering 20 extra minutes for massages booked between 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM. While the massage itself was very good, we noticed only after changing that the bonus 20 minutes had not actually been added. All in all, we had a wonderful time and felt very well taken care of, largely thanks to the exceptional staff members who made our honeymoon so memorable. We sincerely hope management passes our praise along to Rhubesh, Jay, Dhiraj, and Jeffrey. Thank you for a lovely stay!
