The resort is the right choice for those who want to practice water sports during their holidays. The water sports centre offers boating, skiing and surfing among other activities. Vegetarians are not excluded since the chefs prepare a wide range of vegetarian cuisine. Every night, the dinner served at the restaurant is associated with a theme - guests can enjoy Tandoori chicken on the Indian night, for example, or grilled Sakawa fish on Thai night.

Avoid this hotel – we left after one night
Avoid this hotel unless you are looking for a Fawlty Towers experience with a touch of mold and a constant "sorry, not available" for everything at the bar (including soft drinks and wine). The food was surprisingly good, but that is about the only positive thing.
We traveled in a group of 22, and most of us had rooms with mold on the ceilings, walls, and doors. There were dirty linens and towels in the majority of the rooms (I was actually one of the lucky ones to get a clean towel). Some rooms had not even been cleaned properly. It is a large hotel, so you can ask for a new room, but chances are you will end up with an even worse one. We ended up leaving after just one night.
To top it off, during checkout, they tried to make one of us pay for a carton of cigarettes, using a bill signed with a forged signature. Not a single person in our group smokes.
The restaurant area seems to be renovated and the breakfast was quite good, but that nowhere near makes up for the rest of the disaster.
Calm Hotel
One of the best hotels in Sri Lanka We stayed at the club bentota hotel, and it was an amazing experience. The staff were incredibly helpful and ensured we had a wonderful vacation. The hotel's garden was stunning and created such a calm, relaxing atmosphere. The food was absolutely delicious. From the hotel management to all the staff working together and they wanted to make sure that every guest had a memorable stay there.Special thanks to the Mr. Ranjith , Mr chamindu Who always treated us as a family. we really appreciate for your incredible service, and Manori,osahn,shaluka,Adhil who works in restaurant area and all staff members Thank you for your great hospitality I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for peaceful getaway.❤️

Wonderful Food, Atmosphere, and Hospitality
We truly enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The food was absolutely delicious, the atmosphere was wonderful, and what impressed us most was the exceptional care and hospitality we received throughout our stay. The staff were warm, attentive, and made us feel genuinely welcomed and well looked after. Thank you for making our stay so enjoyable and memorable. We would be happy to visit again!
⭐ Unhappy Stay at Club Bentota
Unfortunately, our overall stay at Club Bentota was disappointing and did not meet the standard we expected.
The most frustrating issue was the late check-out arrangement. We had specifically requested and received confirmation for a late check-out. However, we were called several times and repeatedly asked to vacate the room. When we explained that the late check-out had already been confirmed, we were told that it had been confirmed by mistake by the hotel staff. This was extremely inconvenient and made us feel pressured during our stay.
There were also cleanliness and maintenance concerns, including mould/dirt on the curtains and areas around the property that did not appear to be properly maintained.
Another major disappointment was the Wi-Fi service. There was no Wi-Fi available in the rooms. Wi-Fi was only available in the open/common areas, and even there the connection was very slow and unreliable.
We were also disappointed to find that the toothpaste provided in the dental kit had already expired in May, which is a serious concern when providing personal-care items to guests.
The bathrooms were extremely small and cramped. We wondered whether the rooms and bathrooms were originally designed for short overnight stays when the property was previously operated as a club, rather than for the comfort expected from a resort stay.
The condition of the common bathrooms and changing-room facilities was also disappointing. Had an unpleasant smell and very poor condition and clearly needed better cleaning, maintenance, and upkeep. This was not what we expected from a resort.
On the positive side, the water sports were excellent and were definitely one of the highlights of our stay.
Overall, although the property has a beautiful setting and the water sports were excellent, the poor communication regarding the confirmed late check-out, cleanliness and maintenance issues, expired toothpaste, and inadequate Wi-Fi significantly affected our experience.
I hope the management takes this feedback seriously and improves these areas for future guests.

Very disappointed
The hotel offer vast areas and gave us good first impression. Overall, we stayed only for one night and we're very disappointed. Our room was filled with black mold, the toilet were leaking and there was no hot water in the shower. Adding to that, we waited several hours until the maintenance came to fix the boiler. The staff are very nice, but weren't very helpful. Wouldn't recommend my family and friends to stay there.
