Cinnamon Bey Beruwala

Final stop of our 15 day tour of Sri Lanka. The last stop was for some rest and relaxation.

On arrival our room despite check in being 2pm was not ready until 3pm. Unlike all the other hotels we weren’t offered a welcome drink or fresh face cloth.

We hadn’t been made aware of any renovation work if we had we would have certainly looked at other options. despite 352 being a beautiful room be warned there is noise on the floor below which we were told only on arrival and assured the noise would be from 9am to 7pm although at the time of writing this there is still a lot of sanding noise at 21:15. We were offered an alternative room but declined as it was a twin room rather than a double and we had already settled into our room.

We were on the half board package but only ate breakfast in the main restaurant and used both the other restaurants in an evening. The dining area is very large and not very personal

The noodles restaurant we ate in twice and this had a lovely ambience and was very small and had a lovely vibe with the food preparation area for our anniversary they provided a cake and a lovely decorated knife. Nethmi, dulmini and tharuka the chefs came out to the table to check everything was ok. Sulara, sadunika the waitresses were lovely and very good in telling us if something was very spicy. All very attentive.

Fire the Italian restaurant which we ate on two occasions including our last night. Our last night was so lovely with Buddika and Theeksona, both so extremely attentive bringing us a thank you cake and wishing us a safe journey home. Be sure to have some cash with you as when signing your bill to put it on the room it gives a tip option but apparently this isn’t possible and cash is the only way to be able to tip.

Our favourite was the Grain Bar which is in the deluxe ocean lounge such a calm and quiet environment that was great for winding down in an evening pre and post meal. We would sit on the sofas and read. Yurain and Manula both at hand to make that signature cocktail and even remembered what your tipple was if they saw you by the pool bar during the daytime too.

Pathum our room boy made some wonderful towel animals in our room and came to wish us happy anniversary with a bowl of fruit. He also knocked on the door in an evening to offer more water.

The team by the pool are so lovely and when arriving for a relaxing day by the pool they have already got your towels on a sunbed for you well worth giving them a tip the night before :-)

There is evening live music in the main foyer area although sadly most nights there isn’t many people listening

Stayed at Cinnamon Bey Beruwala for my mothers birthday, and had the most amazing stay and service. The staff was very friendly from the beginning, especially Rumeshan from front desk, Ayodhya, Thathsarani, Lahiru, Mekala, Zamrooth and Anupa, Nishantha and Mr. Dinesh from the Bufe restaurant services . Would definitely recommend and come again!
