Wonderful stay
My stay at Eden Beruwala was nothing short of magical and truly deserves more than just 5 stars. Located on the famous Golden Mile of Beruwala, this 158-room beachfront paradise is an icon of luxury on Sri Lanka's southwest coast. From the moment you enter the distinctive horseshoe-shaped architecture, you feel an immediate sense of elegance and warmth that sets it apart from every other resort in the area.
The highlight for us was undoubtedly the iconic apple-shaped pool at the heart of the property. It is such a unique and playful design, surrounded by swaying coconut trees and lush tropical gardens, with the ocean peeking through in the background. It creates the most perfect, chic and welcoming atmosphere. Whether you are lounging by the pool or walking to the pristine Kaluwamodara beach just steps away, every view is picture-perfect.
We stayed in a Superior Seaside Room and it was impeccable. Spotlessly clean, spacious, modern comforts like flat-screen TV, minibar, tea/coffee facilities, luxury bathroom amenities and free high-speed WiFi, but with a beautiful balcony overlooking the ocean. Waking up to the sunrise over the Indian Ocean with that sea breeze was priceless. I know some of their Premium Rooms and Suites even have private Jacuzzi and plunge pools, which we will definitely book next time.
What truly makes Eden Beruwala stand out is its people. The hospitality under Browns Hotels and Resorts is world-class. Every single staff member, from reception to restaurant to housekeeping to the pool attendants, greeted us with a genuine smile and went above and beyond. They remember your name, your preferences, and make you feel like family. This level of sincere, friendly service is rare.
The food was exceptional. The Garden of Eden restaurant offers an incredible buffet spread with both Sri Lankan and international cuisine. The seafood dinners were fresh and delicious, and the breakfast had everything you could imagine. We also experienced their Ayurvedic spa, which was deeply relaxing and rejuvenating after a long day in the sun.
As a resort celebrating over 31 years of excellence, it has perfected the art of hospitality. It is peaceful enough for couples looking for a romantic escape, luxurious enough for those seeking a premium experience, and family-friendly enough for those traveling with kids. The location is perfect too, close to Aluthgama and just about 90 minutes from Colombo airport, yet feels like a private oasis away from everything.
If you are looking for a timeless, luxury beachfront escape in Beruwala, look no further. Eden Beruwala is paradise found. We left with beautiful memories and cannot wait to return. Highly, highly recommended for anyone visiting Sri Lanka. A must-visit gem on the Golden Mile!
