Friendly staff and delecious food.
We had dinner buffet at Beira kitchen and found staff very friendly, extremely polite and helpful. Specially Oshan who attended to us. Always with a smile and helping us. Also Udara, the restaurant Manager answered all our questions. The food was delicious. It was mainly Sri Lankan & Indian. Had a good variety of salads, breads & desserts. There were soups and few asian dishes. Wish there was pasta & pizza specially for the kids. Sadly roast chicken was bit dry and did not see any other roast meats. There are two sittings and we selected the second sitting which starts at 8.35 pm. If i am not mistaken each setting has two hours. There is A la carte menue available as well. Dinner buffet is Rs.5,500/= per person including taxes. Overall experience was very pleasant. Thank you Oshan for your cheerefulness & helpfulness.
Exceptional stay in Colombo!
What a fantastic experience! We have been so impressed by the service, kindness, and genuine hospitality of the entire team at Courtyard by Marriott Colombo.
A very special shoutout to Guest Relations Officer Chamodi and her entire team, who went above and beyond to welcome our family and showed us a level of care that truly reflects the legendary warmth of Sri Lankan hospitality. Their thoughtfulness and attention made us feel genuinely welcomed throughout our stay.
We were so impressed by our first visit — from the exceptional service and immaculate cleanliness to the amazing quality of the food at the restaurants and amenities like the beautiful pool — that we decided we simply had to come back. And we did! Our second stay did not disappoint. We were welcomed with the same kindness and hospitality, and once again had a wonderful experience.
If you’re looking for a place to spend a few nights in Colombo, this is a fantastic choice. Colombo City Centre mall is directly below the hotel, and the location puts you right in the heart of the city with easy access to just about everything. The property also overlooks the beautifully maintained Beira Lake, giving you wonderful views while still being surrounded by the energy of Colombo.
There is something about this hotel that feels elevated from the moment you arrive — the location, the property, the service, and especially the people. It has that feeling of, “We’ve arrived.”
We are incredibly grateful to Chamodi and the entire Courtyard by Marriott Colombo team for taking such wonderful care of our family. After two excellent stays, this has absolutely become the hotel we’ll keep coming back to whenever we’re in Colombo. Highly recommended!
The food was so great and the lady waitress who served us was so sweet
Had such a lovely experience here! The atmosphere was wonderful, and the lady who served us was incredibly sweet, caring, and welcoming. She made us feel completely at home, which made the whole experience even more special. Definitely a place I’d love to visit again! ❤️
Great Service
I would rate the service an 8 out of 10. Expecially, Ishara who served us with great hospitality along with his team of 3 (Heshan, Chalana and Randina). Showed more care than the staff of Hilton Colombo.
Personally i think the food is a bit mid.
Good stay
I spent my birthday at a Suite in Courtyard by Marriott. Anthony helped me with the booking, getting the best room for the best rate from the beginning. Huge thanks to him. Guest relations team including Shenal, Heshali, Chamodi, Samadhi and Vayanga assisted ke and my family very well. High tea was good. Breakfast was okayish. Food wise nothing impress me. It's just a budget buffet good for people. No where near the Marriot standards we experienced overseas. Buffet options needs a lot of improvement to meet at least other 5 star hotel standards in Sri Lanka. No water was provided was until we asked for it.
Swimming pool was advertised to open untill 11PM but when we try to use it around 9PM pool was already closed. Access shares the restaurant. Which is terrible to go through a busy restaurant area after using the pool. We inquired and waited 15-20 mins to use the pool. Non of the staff there were cooperative. They even didn't know where the towels are. I understand they are busy with the restaurant work and it's not their responsibility but hotel should keep some staff dedicated for the swimming pool.
Room was nice and comfortable. We will definitely go for the suite next time. It's nice and spacious.
Valet parking is terrible. There are plenty of valet staff but everyone kept passing the card to each other and ultimately it took more than 20minutes to get our car. Such a shame.
Overall the stay was good. Food was okay. And some staff needs to have common sense, sense of hospitality, practicality of executing things. Some are very lazy and not hospitable at all. They seems only to care about foreigners which is very shameful for a star class hotel specially considering it's a marriot.
Hope these things will improve in my next comings. If not will give up staying in Marriot at all when in colombo and switch back to hilton as usual.
Special appreciation must goes to Anthony. I've told him many times the only exceptional reason i keep coming back to marriot is his beyond service. Hope everyone will learn from him and improve.
