I always wish to visit Sarovar poovar resort because of their excellent service,natural atmosphere and hospitality. Every time I recommend to my friends and relatives to visit here atleast one time. Terrible experience- major food health & safety red flag
Our stay at Estuary Sarovar Premier was extremely disappointing and fell well short of the standards one would expect from a property of this category.
The problems began right at check-in. The photographs listed for the room we had booked did not accurately represent the room provided to us. We were offered a paid upgrade, which we accepted, hoping for a more comfortable stay. Unfortunately, the upgraded room had a strong stench of stagnant water, apparently coming from the swimming pool area that was undergoing renovation. After raising the issue, we were moved to another room.
The replacement room had its own cleanliness and maintenance issues. The dustbin was broken, and the bathroom mats were visibly dirty, with footprints that appeared to be from previous guests. These were eventually replaced after we complained. Later that evening, after returning from a full day of sightseeing, we simply wanted to relax and watch television, only to find that the TV was not functioning properly. This resulted in us having to change rooms for the third time on the very same day.
Cleanliness remained a recurring concern throughout our stay. At breakfast, several plates were dirty and had to be replaced. More seriously, in the evening, we found a lizard roaming across the bar table where uncovered cutlery and glasses were kept. This is not merely an unpleasant sight; having a reptile in direct proximity to uncovered food-service equipment raises a serious hygiene and food-safety concern.
The property's amenities were also not accurately represented. The swimming pool was under renovation during our stay, despite being presented as an available amenity when we made the booking. A resort stay is, to a large extent, about being able to enjoy the facilities advertised, particularly when guests choose a property expecting a leisurely and relaxing holiday.
The service was equally disappointing. The F&B staff appeared inadequately trained, including being unable to provide even basic information about the fish being served. For a property positioned at this level, such gaps in basic product knowledge are difficult to overlook.
At checkout, we were offered a ₹1,000 discount as compensation for the inconvenience. While we appreciate the gesture, it does not address the larger issue. We take limited time off for a holiday expecting a comfortable, clean and relaxing experience; a monetary adjustment cannot give back the holiday time lost dealing with repeated room changes, maintenance problems, hygiene concerns and unavailable amenities.
Overall, this was far from the relaxing resort experience we had expected. The combination of inaccurate room representation, repeated maintenance and cleanliness issues, an amenity being unavailable due to renovation, and inadequately trained staff made the stay a total disappointment. For a property of this stature, we expected considerably better attention to hygiene, maintenance, transparency and guest experience.
Stay at sarovar premiere, poovar
Superb location and ambience, just next to the backwaters. But it did lack certain things like the food in 1st day was not upto the mark. The ACs were not cool enough On complaining, the service was prompt the food on the 2nd day was much good, ACs were functioning very well
