Yas Island Rotana Abu Dhabi

We stayed in Yas Plaza Marina as a family (two adults and two kids, ages 5 and 16) for 10 days in September. The trip left us with wonderful, warm memories. The truest testament to our stay: on our departure day to the airport, our 5-year-old daughter burst into tears because she did not want to leave!

Here is our detailed review to share our sincere gratitude with the team and offer a few helpful, constructive tips for future travelers.

Exceptional Staff & Hospitality: Top Marks! The hotel’s greatest asset is without a doubt its wonderful team:

Early Check-in & Late Checkout: Our journey took nearly 24 hours from Siberia, and we arrived completely exhausted. It was an incredible relief and kindness when the reception team checked us into our room immediately upon arrival—long before the official 3:00 PM check-in time. On our departure day, they also generously granted us a complimentary one-hour late checkout, allowing us to pack and leave calmly without rushing.

Warmth & Responsiveness: Every staff member we encountered was genuinely lovely, cheerful, and positive. They always greeted us with big smiles and resolved any small request instantly. We felt truly welcomed as a family.

Heartwarming Farewell: On our final morning during breakfast before check-out, the restaurant team surprised our family with a sweet, complimentary little cake. It was such a kind, thoughtful gesture that touched us deeply!

Location & Logistics Transport: Out of all the hotels in the Yas Plaza complex, this one is the absolute closest to the complimentary Yas Express shuttle stop. In the September heat, traveling with children, this was an enormous advantage. Over our 10-day stay, we visited every single theme park on Yas Island, and returned to our favorites twice!

City Trips: It was fast, easy, and affordable to take standard city taxis to Saadiyat Island to explore the Louvre Abu Dhabi and teamLab Phenomena.

Beach Access: The walk to Yas Beach takes about 20 minutes at a leisurely pace with kids. We look forward to the opening of Cyan Beach, which will bring the sea even closer.

Tip for travelers: The seabed at Yas Beach is muddy with patches of seaweed, tiny sharp shells, and twigs. We strongly recommend packing water shoes (aqua shoes) to protect your feet and enter the water comfortably.

Dining & Restaurant (Half Board) The restaurant is spotless, bright, and very pleasant.

The food was consistently fresh, flavorful, and varied.

The Half Board plan is exceptionally generous: unlimited soft drinks are included during dinner, along with 2 complimentary alcoholic beverages per adult. For half-board concepts in the UAE, this is a fantastic perk.

Hotel Grounds & Pool Many families with children stay here, and the management visibly prioritizes cleanliness throughout the public areas.

The swimming pool was always clean and kept at a comfortable temperature—the ideal place to unwind during the midday heat after morning park visits.

Minor Room Observations (Tips for Future Guests) These points did not spoil our holiday in the slightest, but sharing them may help future guests prepare and assist the hotel in fine-tuning their service:

Housekeeping: The floor cleaning was quite basic, and socks picked up dust quickly. We recommend slipping into the disposable hotel slippers right away; the team gladly brings extra pairs upon request.

Bathtub: The bathtub surface had a yellowish buildup from mineral water and regular wear. If you are bathing young toddlers, packing a small non-slip silicone bath mat is very practical.

Soundproofing & Aircraft: Being on Yas Island near the airport, airplanes approach quite low overhead. If you are a particularly light sleeper, bringing a pair of earplugs will ensure completely uninterrupted rest.

Conclusion A heartfelt thank you to the management and every staff member for your hospitality, flexibility, and kindness. Our family vacation was a complete success, and we will certainly return to Yas Island!

We recently had an extended stay in Yas plaza marina Abudhabi and the service was top notch. Ashraf from housekeeping was very polite and he would neatly clean our room every day and stock it up with essentials. All the other service staff were also friendly and efficient. Overall a great experience !!
