The Canvas Dubai Mgallery Hotel Collection

I expected considerably better standards from The Canvas Dubai - MGallery by Sofitel. The most disappointing aspect of my stay was the condition of the linen and towels. One of the towels had a clearly visible hole and frayed fabric, while the pillowcase was also noticeably worn and damaged. I have attached photographs because the condition speaks for itself. There was also a persistent damp and musty smell in the room. I cannot say what caused it, but it made the room noticeably less comfortable and is something the hotel should investigate. These are not luxury-related complaints or matters of personal preference. Clean, intact linen, properly maintained towels and a room without an unpleasant damp smell are basic expectations, particularly in a five-star hotel. What concerns me most is the apparent lack of quality control. The damaged items should have been taken out of circulation long before reaching a guest room, and the room itself should have been checked for the source of the damp smell. The experience was well below what I expected from a hotel carrying the MGallery by Sofitel and Accor branding.
