Hyatt Zilara Cancun

We really enjoy how the Butler team at Zilara Cancun enhances multiple elements of each stay. The team is constantly ready to personalize services around the entire resort. Traditionally we enjoy Butler services like making sure the Minibar is stocked full of our favorite snacks and beverages in the suite. This included having fresh ice on demand, bottles of spirits, and proper glassware to create our own in suite beverages. This stay the team also noticed we didn't care for the smell of the sargassum and within minutes we had an oil diffuser in our suite with a choice of different scented oils.

The Butler team also daily transported our bottles of Tequila, champagne, and wine in and out of a special storage area for guests who return and don't want to worry about flying back home with open bottles or trying to drink them to quickly to use them up before the end of the stay.

The Butler team worked well with the Restaurant captains to make sure our dinner preferences were planned for. The level of detail the team planned for was impressive. They went beyond planning just the time of dinner, but also inquired as to our preferences regarding the location of table, and type of chair we preferred.

Even when we didn't text the team via WhatsApp, they were providing daily updates with resort activities. They were never bothersome, but always accessible. Having a team of Butlers that knew our preferences and advocated for our needs with the different resort departments made it feel seamless as we transitioned from one activity to the next.

While the team of Butlers is small, they certainly had impact on our stay. As of now only At the Grand Presidential Suite, Presidential Suites, and VIPS guests are extended their service. We hope to see the Butler team grow in the future and we look forward to our next stay.

We recently stayed at the Hyatt Zilara Cancun and overall had a very nice experience. The hotel is in a great location in the Hotel Zone, with wonderful views and a lovely atmosphere. While the property is a little older, it is very well maintained, and our room on the eighth floor was nicely updated, comfortable, and extremely clean.

The staff truly deserves special recognition. Everyone we encountered was incredibly kind, welcoming, and attentive. The service was excellent throughout our stay and definitely one of the highlights of the resort.

A special thank you to Julio, who was probably the best waiter we had during our stay. He was wonderful and really made us feel taken care of. I also want to recognize the manager at Bugambilia, whose name I believe was Genovia. She was incredibly kind and arranged for a violinist to come to our table and perform a wonderful Luis Miguel song for me. The timing could not have been more perfect for the occasion, and it became one of those special moments that I will never forget. I am so thankful to her for such a thoughtful gesture.

We also visited the speakeasy and had such a fun evening there. The singer had an amazing voice, and we really enjoyed the atmosphere. It was definitely one of the fun highlights of our stay.

The one area where I feel the resort could really improve is the air conditioning and the availability of comfortable indoor spaces, especially during the summer months. Our room would not cool below 21°C (about 70°F), and being on the eighth floor, it still felt warmer than we would have liked. Of course, the higher floor gave us a wonderful view, but Cancun in the summer is extremely hot and humid, and for guests who are not accustomed to that climate, having a cool place to retreat to makes a huge difference.

This was especially noticeable when it came to dining. Spices, the Japanese restaurant, and Bugambilia, the Mexican restaurant, have air conditioning. However, Spices is not open for dinner, which limits the air-conditioned dining choices in the evening. The Italian and seafood restaurants have outdoor dining, and during the summer heat it was simply too warm for us to comfortably enjoy a long dinner outside. We kept hoping for an evening breeze, but unfortunately it never really came!

The Sports Bar does have air conditioning, as does the café/ice cream area, which we certainly appreciated. However, these aren’t really substitutes for additional sit-down, air-conditioned restaurants, so the choices still felt fairly limited.

I also think the main open area where much of the evening entertainment takes place would benefit tremendously from air conditioning or some type of improved cooling system. Even at night, the heat and humidity can be intense, and sitting there for a couple of hours can become uncomfortable very quickly. For those of us who aren’t accustomed to Cancun’s hot and humid summer weather, it can be difficult to relax and enjoy the entertainment when you’re feeling overheated.

I could see that the resort is making an effort with its entertainment, and I appreciate that. I just think this is an area that could use a little more attention. Making that space cooler, more comfortable, and perhaps adding a little more energy and liveliness to the evening entertainment would really elevate the overall resort experience.

As far as noise, we occasionally heard ambulances or police vehicles passing outside at night, but it was not enough to really bother us or interfere with our stay.

Because this is an all-inclusive resort and we had three adults in our room, our stay was definitely on the more expensive side. For that price point, I do feel that more air-conditioned dining and entertainment spaces would add considerably to the overall value, particularly for guests visiting during the hottest months of the year.

Overall, Hyatt Zilara Cancun is a very clean and welcoming resort with wonderful staff, excellent service, nice amenities, and a great location. The people truly made our stay special, and the kindness shown to us, especially that unforgettable Luis Miguel moment at Bugambilia, is something I will always remember and appreciate. With some improvements to the air conditioning, more comfortable indoor dining options, and a little more energy added to the evening entertainment, I think the experience could be even better.
