Outstanding family resort - kids LOVED the Kids Club!
Absolutely LOVED our experience! Traveled as a family of 5 with our kids ages 4 and 5. They loved the Kids Club and were begging to to go, which was a much needed break for us parents. The staff was so sweet and welcoming in the Kids Club (Ariana is one of the nicest people I've ever met) and the whole resort.
The smaller beach was our hang out spot. We appreciated the resort takes such efforts to remove seaweed by net in the water. The water was crystal clear and so fun for watching fish. We loved the water was calm and shallow - one of the biggest reasons we booked the resort. The daybeds were worth the extra fee to have more comfortable seating at the beach and food serviced from the beach.
The only down fall was the beaches on weekends get a bit crowded in the water, as the locals have access and know how beautiful it is. They do stay to the side on the shoreline though and don't crowd the resort beach though.
We had a dolphin room resort and that was a once in a lifetime experience watching the dolphins every morning!
The food and drinks was fantastic! Along with level of customer service. Go see Sixto in The Den (mixology bar).
We will most certainly be back! Thank you Hyatt and your glowing staff!

Nice hotel with poor service
It's a beautiful hotel and a great place to spend a vacation with your family and kids. However, if you stay here, I would strongly recommend avoiding Moongate.
The service at Moongate was far below what anyone should expect from a Hyatt property. I would never return to that restaurant for either the food or the service.
I've stayed at many Hyatt properties over the years and have never experienced service this poor. Honestly, even the cheapest taco restaurants where I live provide far better customer service and treat their guests with much more respect. That says a lot about how disappointing our experience at Moongate was.
Memories to last a lifetime
The experience me and my now fiancee shared was one for the books. I had planned to do a surprise proposal and staff was very helpful in ensuring my vision was captured. They had many different options available for romantic dinners and staff to capture the moment. Check in and out was easy and every single person on staff was very accommodating and supportive. The hotel was not too far from the airport and it was close to the night life. The food at every dine in option was also delicious and the drinks even better.
Our favorite place in cancun
Natasha, Jazer, and Diego were so incredibly friendly and accommodating as our butlers. We also loved Omar who remembered our drink orders every day at the beach. We had different servers at tradewinds for breakfast each morning and they all went above and beyond, same with habeneros for lunch. We came to Hyatt ziva for our honeymoon 5 years ago and knew we had to come back for our anniversary and were thrilled with how consistent the experience was. 5 stars, perfect experience every time, we’ll be back!! Beach crew kept the beach seaweed free even during peak sargassum season. We heard from many people who have stayed at other resorts that this one is definitely the best of the best in Cancun for food, service, and overall experience.
